Lovely, quiet room, warm and comfortable. Close to The Dragon pub where breakfast was served. We had half board, which was incredible value for money. Complimentary glass of wine, 20% off drinks at the bar and really delicious food. Would highly recommend.
We stayed here as a stopover and so pleasantly surprised. Lovely room, the bed was super comfy and the quilt was perfect for a duvet "cuddle". The shower ensuite was refreshing allbeit looking like it would overflow from the tray, maybe a slight drain problem, but it was fine. Would definitely stay again. Very good value.
Fantastic accommodation at a reasonable price. Great views as next to the canal. Be sure to visit the Dragon pub and restaurant next door. Plenty of parking at the venue plus a free car park across the road. Close ties to the railway station and other establishments within the village of Willington
This is a very popular location. The room was very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast at the Dragon was good and tasty. The staff are young and very helpful and friendly.
We stayed for two nights whilst visiting family, in room one which is a superior room. Car parking outside The Cottage itself is minimal, much easier to use The Dragon (pub/restaurant) car park next door.|The room was spacious and very clean with lovely decor and furnishings. Large bathroom with rainfall shower and nice toiletries.|The bed was divine! Probably the most comfortable I have slept in I did not want to get out of it!|Good tea selection and biscuits, I think fresh milk was available on request at the pub. |We were facing the main road but did not find the traffic noise to be of any bother/disruption.|A couple of minor points, it would have been nice to have blinds for privacy and it should be more clear when booking breakfast isn’t included. For the price it would have been nice to have had the choice of even a continental breakfast.|We had breakfast in The Dragon, food was excellent but not the most welcoming service.|We will definitely stay here again and would recommend.
We opted to stay here for Download and have a designated driver each day. It takes about 20mins to get from the cottage to Download so it’s pretty convenient.||Rooms are well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and a large comfortable bed. The rooms are not enormous but use of space is good. ||Bathrooms are also well equipped with toiletries and a walk on shower. Only small problem I had is that the shower just has a large overhead shower head so it’s hard to stop your hair from getting wet if you don’t want to wash it.. there is no other attachment. But it’s a small thing! The bed was so comfortable. The cottage is also very quiet which makes for a great sleep.||Next door at the Dragon- affiliated pub you can have a full range of breakfast options (we didn’t know this but it’s recommended to book a table as they are so busy- a reflection on the great quality of food and service). We had a full 3 course lunch on Sat and cooked breakfast on Sunday. The food was excellent, service was speedy and friendly. We had absolutely no complaints at all. ||||This is a great spot. Easy access to the canal for walking before or after breakfast.||We had a wonderful time.
Stayed here for 2 nights, lovely room and shower room. Very clean. Good internet. Ate at the dragon pub next door both nights fabulous food, lovely inside and out . Fabulous outdoor drinking and eating area , inside conservatory room and bar area for meals as well. Downside we were in room 6 over the kitchen, it was noisy with doors banging but quiet once kitchen closed.definately visit again but different room.
We booked a weekend stay and had our dog with us. When booking they were extremely helpful at fitting us in to make sure they could provide a dog friendly room.|Clean, pleasant and very comfortable room with everything we needed for our stay. |The only downside for us was breakfast. As we needed to be out early we hadn't booked breakfast but noticed in the guest information that a breakfast box could be provided if you required and early start. |So, the evening before we tried to book an early breakfast box and were told by the manager that they didn't provide that service. Which is strange because it's in black and white in their guest information. He was quite abrupt and mentioned a few times that breakfast wasn't included, (which we were already aware of) |However, that didn't spoil our stay, the evening meal and the service were amazing. Our room was extremely comfortable. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again if we were back in the area.
