Quick and easy trail to enjoy walking, biking or stopping to view the artwork.
Trail is flat and paved with graffiti all over from past to walls and even trees. Fun stop along the way in the city for a first time.
Absolutely obsessed with this place! First, it’s a Really nice spot to go for a walk. the trail is parallel to the river so it’s a nice scene. There’s also a “spray painting allowed” rule so you can do your own or admire the other beautiful art that has been done by ton’s of different artists ☺️ it’s a great free activity for the whole family and you can also bring your dog ????
If you like to photograph colorful things - this spot is also for you ;) ????
the quality of street art can vary WILDLY here so it's not for prudes or snobs but it is VERY Pittsburgh in the best sense of the word. Sometimes there's something going on, most of the time no. But artistically they're reaching towards something and you can get some great views here.
Cool place to take photos at! There’s a nice trail to walk down, saw a lot of bikers so if you like to bike this is the trail for you.
Great outdoor space. Free music and fire shows. Also a skate spot. And lots of places to be creative with spread paint
I've seen this sort of thing in a couple of cities. Rather than have graffiti artists tagging buildings and stuff all around town, they've authorized this spot where they can express themselves and not get in trouble.
So many great pieces here, along the parking lot on the concrete barriers and all around. Definitely worth a stop and if you're thinking you need to get a photo opportunity, check it out!
I was curious to go look at this place and finally I decided to walk there with my dog. We started at the Marina in Southside, at end it was a 3.4miles walk.
It was a Friday morning and I encountered some people but sporadically, which made the walk a bit sketchy. It was all fine until past the railways (right after the dog park) where you enter into homeless territory. There are many tents on both sides of the trail. I have nothing against homeless people but I don't have that much experience with them to know what to expect so I was a bit on edge. Nothing happened and no one bothered us so, at the end, the walk wasn't too bad. There were people running and riding which makes me think it is a safe place. I probably would have felt safer on a bike. In any case I made it to the Color Park (and back) and once there it was nice. There were some pretty cool graffiti but most of them were just random writings and scribbles with no artistic value. The view of the city is not the best either. I can see how this is a place where people who want to express themselves with spray paint can freely do so without worries. I like the idea.of it, the execution a bit less.
It is a great spot for pictures though and I think it's cool to see at least once. I won't be going back to just walk leisurely but it is a nice trail to run or ride on for sure.
I have never even heard about this place until I seen on Facebook that they repainted it white for everybody to repaint and start over. This place was so cool. I enjoyed being able to go here with my family and allowing my 7 year old to be able to enjoy expressing himself with paint. I will be back and next time we will have more colors for more fun!!!!
