A bit of Old School Atlanta continues. If you are from Atlanta, most likely you'll appreciate dining here.
The bourbon and sling were refreshing.
My Little Princess had calf liver, rice and gravy, and sweet potatoes. Having worked as a kid at Mary Mac's she missed the pecans and marshmallow toppings with a little more cinnamon as served there back in the day, otherwise the sweet potatoes were tasty.
My catfish, rings, and caesar salad were perfect.
Ms. Valerie. although very busy this evening was very helpful with a couple of requests and appropriately attentive during our dining experience.
November update: Another great dining experience and a pleasure being served by Ms. Bria. Although the restaurant was very busy, our selections were very good and she took care of all diners most efficiently.
But, y'all don't listen to me, I'm the last native Atlantan in this here town, so what do I know?

Just another enjoyable evening meal at The Colonnade. Two couples, salads and a wedge, salmon, trout, turkey and dressing, catfish, and a variety of delicious sides.
As always, service was just as you would expect. Marcelo was entertaining and efficient and a great server!
We had Sunday dinner here and were not disappointed. Food was good we had the fried chicken and chicken fried chicken. The chicken was tender and moist. The Peppermill gravy was good. Macaroni and cheese was OK along with the whipped potatoes. Service was prompt and friendly. Nothing over the top here, just a good meal.
Greeted and seated within minutes. Server was prompt and efficient. Served beautiful biscuits and miniscule but delicious corn muffins- I am picky about bread. All of that was impressive enough...but! When the plates, overflowing with huge portions, was presented in front of us, we grew quiet and buck-eyed! Half of a chicken! Whole fish ( we had catfish & trout). The sides were nice portions which were tasty. Overall the meal was authenticly southern because my 89yo mom made no negative comments. I highly recommend this establishment which is posted as a must on many lists. Enjoy the memorabilia in the decor as well. BTW Long Island Ice Tea was GOOD ????
The Colonnade is excellent in every way; food, drinks, service and atmosphere. This restaurant is an Atlanta institution. I had the broiled scalps which were perfect. Everything was excellent! My waiter also made sure I had plenty to drink. I'm glad the bridge is fixed on Cheshire Bridge Rd. so I can start going more often.
This restaurant has been here for years and years and years. It is a tradition in our family. My grandmother went there for years after church on Sunday for lunch. The food is southern cuisine with fried chicken and vegetables and it is delicious. I highly recommend eating there. You won’t be disappointed with the food.
A true taste of the South and a piece of Atlanta history. The food is great try the fried green tomatoes. Staff is wonderful and I love the vintage decor. This place takes me back in time to my youth and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants some good southern cooking.
First-time consumer of this place and ordered the fried chicken dinner all white meat.....I want to really stress the importance of "best fried chicken " spots to actually be the best you must brine the chicken to have flavor past the seasoned flour coating. Was disappointed with the flavor and didn't finish the meal it was more salt in the green beans ( probably due to being from a can). The rolls were less desirable than expected to be in Atlanta as a visitor. I wish there was a guide to authentic southern dining.
Overall, this was the worst experience I've had in a restaurant in some time. From the host's rudeness, to the understaffing and the poorly run kitchen, this restaurant needs a serious management shake up. We waited over 2 hours for our food! When it came out, the poor waiter tells us the kitchen ran out of your choice of side. Can I get you something else? Why do I say poor waiter? ONE waiter was serving roughly 100 guests. No other waiters, who clearly were not as busy, were willing to help him. He was doing his best, but the rest of the staff left him to die on the vine.
