More of a lounge for the adjacent lodge accommodation than a cafe but pleasant with comfortable seating and an open fireplace. There's a good selection of drinks and sweet options available and service is open late which is great. Makes a nice halfway house when travelling to and from Norwich. This lounge is also internally connected to the bar & carvery / dining room so it makes a nice place to see an evening out post meal.
The Stag restaurant is superb but the coffee lounge is not so good. It's very noisy especially when the coffee machines are being used. The regular tea was quite unpleasant and the food was just ok. Coffee was better. it's a shame because overall Breckland Lodge is excellent and staff are always friendly and helpful. I'd recommend the restaurant but the coffee lounge needs a little improvement.
Stopped here to get a takeaway coffee, based on reviews saying coffee was good. Staff were friendly and toilets were clean. Unfortunately, the Coffees were weak and overly hot (made using the same hotwater urn as used for tea making).
We come twice now, it's such a lovely lounge.. very chilled area. The service is brilliant. We enjoyed the scones. Just a lovely place

For several years now, myself and some friends all meet up here annually in the month of December to have a Christmas catch up. Nice atmosphere, tasty snacks and beverages. Plus the staff are really friendly.
Came with friends to Bistro in evening. Ordered Gnocchi with pan fried mushrooms, tomato sauce, rocket and parmesan shavings with toasted ciabatta. Not a mushroom in sight! Was told they were hidden in the sauce. They were not. Not even a mushroom taste, no rocket either, what looked like chopped up Brussel sprouts instead. No bread, but did come when I asked. Service good but food poor for price.
Up on arrival the staff were very busy at the counter. There was a couple of tables available but these hadn't been cleared. We cleared the table and asked for a cloth to wipe the table down. The staff the apologised saying if they had seen us come in they would have cleared the table. The staff member the proceeded to clean the table.
When we ordered they apologised again for not having seen us enter.
When the food turned up it was hot and good.
