As we alighted the car, on the car park, our nasal senses were heightened to the wonderful smells, emanating from the kitchen area.
We entered the friendly bar, and were greeted by a wide range of ales, lagers and cider. I plumped for the Taylors Landlord, and a superbly kept pint it was.
As it was a Sunday, we selected the roasts from the menu, my wife had the turkey, and I, the brisket, which I was informed had been cooked by wood firing, for 14 hours. And you could tell, it melted in the mouth, exuding a luscious flavour. And the portion was very generous. The wife's turkey, too, very succulent.
We managed to squeeze in two puddings, apple pie, and sticky toffee, which again were amazing.
The staff were lovely, very attentive and friendly, especially Teresa behind the bar.
Well worth a visit, and we will go again.
Very unusual interior to an old style pub thankfully un "improved" so still has atmosphere and charicter which is totally lacking in most "upgraded" pubs. Food was excelent.
Called in on the off chance of a Sunday Lunch, the staff were very welcoming and the roast beef lunch was excellent. Would eat here again if in the area.

A great drinking venue with lovely landlady and bar staff but also if you want a venue for an event; delicious food, friendly service and a fabulous place to make some great memories. Thank you!
Local Village Pub very friendly staff and regulars, I will probably have a meal threbnext time I visit .

It's also dog friendly!
Just walked up for a lunchtime pint. Notice outside says opens at 12.00 noon not open at 12.45. Grrrr.
