Just an amazing place, very romantic and lots to do in the area. Only 30mins drive from all the biggest attractions in the area. Room is beautiful and cosy, everything we would need and a little Easter treat on arrival. 10/10
A great little spot to spend the night when travelling up to Edinburgh. Lovely scenic views and freshly made breakfast and coffee in the morning.
Absolute gem! This accommodation is absolutely beautiful. The house is very spacious and very well equipped. The log fire is so comforting and the house is well heated from the central heating throughout the house. The bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable and the bathrooms are of a high standard. The grounds are lovely and the car park is ideal. Highly recommend this to anyone wishing to have a nice relaxing break.||The owner is very accommodating and friendly.
Had a weekend away with my little one and partner, absolutely gorgeous place to stay with the most amazing views! We arrived to our room to a bottle of wine and a packet of sweets, which was a lovely surprise, the room comes equipped with all cutlery, plates, kettle, dishwasher, microwave, cooking utensils and oven.
We were met by Darren on arrival, who gave us fresh eggs and was lovely to talk to.
He gave us some good tips on where to visit and how to get there.
The shower was so nice and heated up well and the beds were very comfy.
We stayed in the cottage at the bottom of the property, it had two gorgeous windows facings the hills which we could sit on the window sill, which had some cushions on, and watch the little lambs hop about.
Darren and Brent have a few chickens and two sheep also which were lovely to watch with out little girl.
Will absolutely be back as it was bliss and so nice to have quality family time.
Thank you again to both Darren and Brent.
This property is a little gem of a place! Recently renovated to a high standard and ideally located for visiting Northumberland & Scotland. The property is extremely clean, well equipped and warm. The gated courtyard and surrounding paddock were ideal for our dog Luna. Lots to see and do locally. Highlight of our trip was a visit Berwick were we watched dolphins playing in the harbour.||Many thanks to Darren, the owner.
We (couple plus 6 month-old dog) stayed here for 3 nights in August 2021. In short, we loved it, but here is some detail:||||> I booked over the phone due to the difficulty this year of finding dates through booking websites the staff were very accommodating to this.||> We were greeted on arrival and provided with free fresh coffee and scones - a very nice touch.||> The layout was perfect for us with a young dog; the no-traffic courtyard rooms each have their own external door and there were nearby grassy areas for when the dog needed the toilet.||> The rooms were large and comfortably furnished; we had a large 6 month-old puppy with us and there was more than enough room for his XXL cage and for him to play.||> The breakfast was lovely each morning with fresh coffee/tea, cereals, fruit, toast, and a cooked breakfast. ||> The location was good - only 20-25 minutes from Holy Island and in particular Bamburgh Beach, which was a big reason for us wanting to visit Northumberland, due to it apparently being one of the most dog-friendly beaches in the UK (and it did not disappoint!).||||My only slight (and hopefully constructive) criticism would be of the dinner we had one evening at the hotel. The main was delicious, but the starter and dessert were disappointing for the price paid, and the wine expensive. The room could have used a little more atmosphere as well, even if only with the addition of some music.
Stayed here in June as part of a trip around Scotland and the North of England. Perfect location for exploring Holy Island (check the tide times) and Bamburgh castle. |The reading room with honesty bar was a great touch and seemed well received by other guests staying at the time too. Bedroom had a rustic charm, the only downside being that the bathroom was dated and separated from our bedroom. |Both the evening meal and breakfast were excellent. |We would definitely stay here again when next in the area.
