I was a guest of The Clyde for several days while my husband was in the hospital. The close proximity to Lovelace Heart made my travel to and from very easy. Especially with the The Clyde's front door valet service. I found the front desk staff to be friendly, helpful, and professional at all times. My room was quiet and large with an "entry" area. Though I prefer a much firmer mattress, like a "table with a pad firm", I think most will like the bed. Great housekeeping service. The menus in Club 1922 and Carrie's are a bit limited, but the food is very good, and the waitstaff were at the ready seeing to my every need. They offered a good selection of drink and desserts, as well. I also appreciated the on-site gift shop and their wide assortment of snacks for a late night nosh. As other reviews have noted, yes, the rooms could be updated, and I understand that is the future plan, however for me, it comes down to the service, which I found to be excellent, the delicious on-site food and drink, and most importantly, the clean, quiet, comfortable room. I'll will stay here again.
We came here for a Dance convention in a mini family reunion, and we can’t say enough nice things about this hotel. The staff were amazing and very accommodating. The rooms were super clean and very spacious not to mention the amazing views of the mountains. The beds were comfortable and the pillows amazing. Our room had an iron ironing, board, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, make up remover, Q-tips, several different bars of soap. There were ice machines on each level. The decor in the lobby and bar area were 1920s theme.
You’re better off elsewhere. $200+ a night. The rooms have all the class of a red roof inn. Only I’m certain red roof has refrigerators and microwaves available. None of that here. Don’t let the lobby and website fool you. The room I am staying in is so hot with the thermostat being on 60 degrees. The bathroom has all the luxury of my grandmothers 1940’s bathroom. Sink was stopped up. The shower curtain smells like they haven’t changed it in forever, no bags in the trash cans, no hand soap, they don’t even offer a safe in the rooms. I will never stay here again nor would I recommend this hotel. Best western plus is a safer bet. Very disappointed.
Service is excellent in the location is of course perfect, walkable to everything in the relatively small downtown area. I've been here a number of times and the people are absolutely wonderful. I went desperately to give it five stars, but the dated feel of the rooms simply keep it out of the class of a Marriott or a Hilton, for roughly the same price level.
Stayed at the Clyde for my daughters birthday. Paid close to 400.00 a night. Upon check in, gave the girl my credit card and specifically said not to charge the card I had on file to hold the room. A few days later it posted to my card I said NOT to charge. When trying to clear things up, I was immediately dismissed and basically called a liar. They said it was charged to my credit card and not the one I reserved the room with. After going back and forth and having to send PROOF that I wasnt lying
(Screenshots of my bank account!) they refunded my debit and charged my credit. Aside from that horrible customer service and not even trying to make things right by comping or even a discount, the room was horrible. At 400.00 a night, the sheets where like sleeping in plastic, can't move without making so much noise, the heater didn't work, it stayed 62 the whole time, we all froze and the shower was clogged. By the time I was done showering I was in ankle deep water. Horrible place that I will never stay at again. And I will be sure to let friends and family know as well.
The Clyde hotel overall was a great experience. You can tell the hotel is older but it's still in great condition. Staff were nice and helpful. When it got busier throughout the week, the water temperature dropped. The showerhead is fairly low, so if you are tall it may be uncomfortable. Beds were great, room was clean, nice fitness facility. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, hair dryer are all provided.
When i got to my room it was very hot. The AC was set to 60 but the room temp was over 80 degrees. So i had to move rooms. When i got to my new room the mini fridge didn’t work so you had to get a new one. Then i went to iron my work shirt for next day and the ironing board was broken. It wouldn’t stay in the up position so i had to iron my shirt in the floor. At the gym, the first treadmill (window row, left side) didn’t work. The screen started but the belt doesn’t move. Then moves over one treadmill to the right and the incline is broken. Will not recommend this hotel.
Positive: The room and hotel as a whole was very clean. The staff was friendly and pleasant to speak with. Negative: I requested that maintenance check the thermostat in my room because I could not get the room cool enough to sleep comfortably. Im not sure if they checked it or not but the entire week of my stay I was uncomfortably warm every night. Negative: ""
