Visited this lovely cafe on a wet and windy day, even so, still great views of the lake's, Good menu and food was excellent, Staff friendly and helpful, Look forward to returning many more time's during the summer
Food was quiet good, but seemed to lack atmosphere. The young lady that served us was lovely. So polite and always smiling. Also asked us, where we were visiting and took an interest, which make such a nice change these days. The lady cooking was also very nice but was rushed off her feet as we arrived at a really busy time. Maybe another member of stuff during lunch hour would make things easier for everyone!
Nice little cafe that is reasonably priced, does proper decaffeinated coffee (not horrible instant stuff). It has lovely views over the fishing lake so you can witnesses your other half catching that 'massive fish' without having to get cold. They also have a shower and baby change facility.
Went on the Buckland lake walk, not far round, couldn't do that, anyhow, what a lovely place. The mobility scooter went up easy, nice and flat, so this walk is disabled friendly. I love the views, but Silver being a senior dog now, we could not go far.
Very nice, really tasty cakes, good tea and vuews
Nice outlook. Set over looking lakes. Reasonable priced food with good size. Great for workman and people passing through. Local arts and crafts also on sale. Food not fancy, typical cafe menu. Worth diverting for.
Real shame was looking forward to a nice breakfast. Instead our order was wrong, toast brown not white, bacon instead of sausage and tea instead of coffee ( cheap instant!)!! Poached eggs were not an option and food was luke warm. Food quality was very poor, really needs to improve before we ever go back or recommend. Although have to say very friendly staff just a shame couldn't get our order correct.
Nice location, friendly enough staff (although they do have a penchant for loud cackling and some choice language), but the quality of the food just doesn't match the prices they ask. E.g. tuna baguette is £4.95 but it just isn't that great I.e. I would say it's value is more like £3.50. Also, no all day breakfast for some reason. What can I say, I would go here a lot more if only the food was either better quality or better value and there was a better choice but I'm just not that tempted. I hope it improves then I would definitely go more. If it doesn't I will probably eventually give up going altogether.
