Dropped in here for a drink and snack. What we had was hot and tasty, and the staff were freindly. The only thing against it was the very high step at the entrance which I struggled to get up, but was then told there was another entrance at the back which was level, duly noted for future visits. (I have my eye on one of those delicious looking pasties in the window).
Friendly greeting despite arriving 25 minutes before opening. It was a cool damp morning and the manager kindly served me to a coffee before opening time.
A strong filter coffee for £2.50.
I did notice a tempting selection of cakes and quite possibly pork pies.
I'll bear the latter in mind for future reference

First time I've been and not cycling. Great little place. Food up to scratch. Cosy and comfortable
Fabulous little gem with delights for all! Delicious homemade quiches cakes and more. Great staff that are polite and helpful, nothing is to much trouble. Reasonable prices, clean and cosy what more could anybody want? 5 stars from us. Do yourself a favour if you are visiting the area or local get yourself in here you definitely won't regret it.
I had a really disappointing experience at the Clawson Kitchen this morning. I've been a number of times in the past and enjoyed the "gluten free" Mars bar cake. As a coeliac, consuming even small amounts of gluten can be damaging to the intestine and can have a serious long-term impact. I've therefore checked verbally with the staff each time and been reassured that the cake is gluten free and that one of the regular customers is also coeliac and regularly eats this cake. Today we found out that the Mars bar cakes actually do contain gluten. When we raised this, we were told again that they have a customer who is a "proper coeliac" (not sure what this means, I can confirm that I too am a "proper coeliac") who regularly eats this cake. This person may be willing to put their health at risk by consuming gluten (or perhaps they too are not aware that it contains gluten), but the vast majority of coeliacs will not be. I was also disappointed by the defensiveness and lack of understanding by the member of staff we spoke to. I appreciate that it is awkward and annoying to be a coeliac (I did not choose it). I don't expect cafes to necessarily cater for it, but I do expect that food will be labelled appropriately to prevent serious long term health implications. Please please please, can you make sure you label your food correctly in the future.
Good food in a homely environment although personally I didn’t value the dogs company watching me eat. Staff initially forgot we had entered so we did not get table service, however, this is a great eatery in a pleasant rural location with food that is value for money
Had a family lunch 30 Aug 2023, the food was lovely, everyone really enjoyed it.
Also had the pork pie which is made on the premise, it was fantastic.
