Dining at The Chimes at LSU was a pleasure. Their Blackened Gator was tender and flavorful, while the Shrimp poboy was cooked just right in a delicious sauce. The Catfish and Shrimp with Mac 'n Cheese was perfectly cooked and presented with a savory sauce. The restaurant also offered convenient parking at the rear of the building.
We had the best waitress, sorry I can’t remember her name. Very patient with our order there were 8 of us, and she answered all our questions and made great suggestions. The atmosphere was cool, the food was just good. My salad was ok, the lettuce wasn’t crispy, but it could have been sitting in the dressing for a while before it got to me. The Salmon was cooked medium as requested which was great. I asked for no dressing just oil and vinegar on the side, but it still had dressing.
Shrimp basket was ok the fries were nice and crispy. The shrimp were tiny and fried hard. Lots of open seating if you are ever looking for a place for a larger party. The restaurant was clean overall. There is also outside seating.
Went in the evening, atmosphere was great. Our waiter seemed distracted by other things but it is what it is. I'm here to review the food!
I ordered the Louisiana BBQ Shrimp PoBoy with a side of Hush puppies ????.
The Poboy was DELICIOUS, it was also a big sandwich stuffed with A LOT of shrimp. Definitely recommend this to anyone.
The hush puppies were good, maybe slightly over cooked but still good.
It was recommended to us to get a table on the top floor. Thankfully, there is an elevator! The sun was bright and it was hot!
We started with the spinach and artichoke dip that came with fried bow tie pasta. The dip was delicious. There were three of us and we all agreed that fried bow tie pasta is not one of our favorites.
I had the Crab and Brie Soup. It was thick and rich. It was really good but when I order a seafood dish, I do like for it to taste like it has seafood in it. I’m not sure that there was much crab in the dish. The bread that came with the soup was amazing!
My two companions had the fried shrimp platter and the fried catfish platter. They got salad, hush puppies, and French fries with their meals. They both said that their meals were delicious and they had left overs to take home.
Our waiter was very nice and helpful and made sure to keep our water and drinks filled.
Ordered takeout from the Chimes, and everything was amazing as always. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Will definetly come back soon!!
Was in town traveling on work and had a group dinner here. It was a beautiful night so we were able to sit upstairs on the patio. The location has a lot of seating.
The music was a little bit loud, but that tends to go with the atmosphere.
We had, several appetizers and all were tasty. Our group especially liked the grilled alligator.
I ordered the catfish with crawfish etouffee. It was a lot but it was soooo tasty.
Our server was prompt and attentive to our group.
This is one of my new favs in the LSU zone!
Excellent food, served quickly, at a great price point.
The ambience is fantastic! The perfect weekday lunch spot!
It’s not a day I go by not wanting Chimes !! This was first time at this location . The service was absolutely great. The food delicious seafood platter and jumbo bbq shrimp with rice OMG!!!!!!! But please pretty please get that CharBoiled Oyster Grill . I was very disappointed that the most popular one with a beautiful view only had Raw Oysters and add some cognac options to the Bar . Besides that Thank you for having great servers and view .
