Best wedding I could have asked for. We had the venue portion with the outdoor patio upstairs. We loved it. The servers were great and extremely helpful! The bartender was amazing! All the staff helped make the night amazing. Perfect small wedding that my wife and I had imagined. We want to thank Carolyne so much for being so helpful, words can’t describe how grateful we are.
The food was delicious! The bread rolls blew my mind at how good they were. Steak was great. We’ll recommend this place to everyone from now on. Thank you all so much!!
Valet was great and made the parking much easier !
Today, my spouse provided me with a surprise birthday dinner at Chicago Firehouse Restaurant , 1401 S. Michigan Ave. What an elegant experience. The atmosphere elegant, wait staff professional and attentive to the extreme. The food mouth watering, we left stuffed, happy and can’t wait to go back. This restaurant is totally upscale, so dress appropriately. We also loved that they had valet parking. Having a special occasion, romantic night out, want superb service, excellent food, this is the place to go.
Absolutely lovely place! The interiors of both the bar as well as the dining room are beautiful. The staff is super sweet and very attentive. I tried the Sunday Supper and it has amazing value for $. All the items I tried were exceptional. Can’t wait to return here!
This is my first ever 5 star rating for a restaurant, and it is well deserved! Everything from the bread to our drinks and our entrées was absolutely delicious. The bread was small and had the right amount of seasoning on it. The halibut was cooked to perfection and accented with a puree that enhanced its flavor. The asparagus, prepared with the right amount of crispness, and au gratin potatoes both tasted amazing as well. I found myself full but not wanting to stop eating because everything tasted so good. My partner had steak with macaroni and cheese, and he said it was the best steak he had ever had and cooked exactly how he wanted it.
The service is outstanding! Our server, Tom, was very friendly and helped to answer questions we had about the menu. He also took time to talk to us about our visit to Chicago and recommended a couple of things to do and see while we are in the city. Tom never once made us feel rushed or ignored. Shannon, the manager, also stopped by a few times to check on us. She surprised us with a special treat just to make our visit and evening more enjoyable.
I was extremely impressed with The Chicago Firehouse, and the only downfall is that they aren't located closer to home.
We loved the atmosphere entering Chicago Fire House. It definitely made for a nice date night on a Saturday. We didn’t have to reserve in advance but did fine on the earlier side. The menu had several food options we were excited to try, but the cocktail list left a little to be desired. As the courses came we found them really enjoyable. Perhaps we would’ve chosen a different stater other than the ricotta knots if we knew everyone receives bread anyway, but it was still good. The lobster bisque was good but not as amazing as it was hyped up to be. The dry aged ribeye was cooked perfectly, and the table side torched truffle butter was a fun experience. The roasted garlic and bone marrow on the side was a great touch as well. That being said, it wasn’t one of my favorite ribeyes I’ve had in Chicago for the price. Also, there were a couple off-beat or slightly awkward moments with the waiter and host. They weren’t big deals but noticeable small moments where we thought “that was an odd thing to say” or made it seem our waiter was a bit hyper-fixated on his tip. All in all, we’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for. A while, I’m glad we did, but we won’t be rushing back when there’s so many other great restaurants to go to.
Stepping into the South Loop’s Chicago Firehouse Steakhouse, one enters a space where Chicago’s history and culinary excellence converge. In this converted firehouse, the atmosphere is steeped in tradition, yet buzzing with the energy of a staff renowned for their friendliness and a menu celebrated for its perfectly charred steaks and fresh seafood.
Every visit promises more than a meal—it's an experience, complemented by the intrigue of a soon-to-open speakeasy downstairs. It’s easy to understand why this place claims the title of our favorite steakhouse; it’s not just the quality of the food but the entire storied atmosphere that captivates.
One of my favorite restaurants to visit her in Chicago. The food, atmosphere and the customer service is always top notch. Every time, I visit the hostess always visit the table and check in on us to ensure we are having a great experience.
I can’t imagine all much about the price because I never pay but I do know the restaurant have valet parking and the food is very good.
My husband and I really enjoy great service and paired with good food; it is worth our time and money. Even though our visit was on the spur of the moment, we were able to get a great table. We arrived about 30 min to an hour before the restaurant became full. We were treated the same as those who had prior reservations and we were not rushed.
The service/sever was great. Alex was very familiar with the menu, providing excellent descriptions of specials . Alex was attentive, checking to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Alex was also kind and friendly. Our meal (roasted chicken) was delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection….very tender. If we could change one thing (minor) would be the lemon and caper jus. Flavor/taste was good, but it was just a little too much for us….the mash potatoes (which were tasty) disappeared into the jus. Loved the kale…very tender. Now, for the dessert(s); we are not sure how often the dessert menu changes, but the dessert menu on Saturday, April 12, 2024, presented a hard choice. Saving calories, we opted to share….we chose the Pound Cake filled with warm banana pudding, and drizzled with a rum sauce. This dessert was “De-Lish”, and worth every calorie. The pound cake was moist with a nice texture and the banana pudding was warm and full of flavor. Also, the sauce was so delicious, we tried to get every drop off the plate.????
Again, we would recommend Chicago Firehouse!
