Absolutely beautiful carvery dinner and mouth watering desserts today. Eight of us and nothing was too much for the very kind and helpful staff. They made us feel right at home. The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was lovely with the log fires and original features. We had a wonderful time and it was really reasonably priced. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back ????
We popped in on pur way home from bury unplanned it was late Sunday afternoon / evening so it was the end of the day (and I'm sure a long week for the staff) but they greeted us so warmly and if they were tired from a long week they didn't show it at all!
Big smiles and so much energy and love from them both it was so nice.
We felt instantly at home and comfortable. The food was good and just what we needed the gravy and the gammon were especially good. Tony the chef (he might be the owner too im not sure) was so warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for him. I can't wait to come back another Sunday lunchtime and I'll be booking in this time as I'm sure they'll be busy
1st time of trying and will definitely be back. Meats cooked to perfection. Parsnips and potatoes nicely roasted. Large selection of vegetables (not over cooked or mushy) and well risen yorkies. Very tasty.

The food was ok, but in my opinion, it all seemed as if the meat were sandwich thin and roast spuds were out of a packet. Aunt Bessie's special. Might have been an off day because I've heard very good things about this pub from friends. I will try again at some point to see if it's just an off day.
