A very friendly olde-worlde pub with lots of quirky ornaments. We noticed on our last visit (July 2021) that the pub was up for sale and the barmaid told us the landlord was leaving in October, so we hope it gets new owners and is not converted into residential.
Querky little establishment. Very historical building large car park. Separate dining room and bar area. Enjoyed a reasonable evening meal with friends. Fish pie was excellent, steak and kidney pudding tasty but amount of steak was not generous. The patron was very helpful and polite and seemed to be doing everything himself the evening we were there. The querkyness came from the interesting curios displayed and for sale around the pub (even some in the ladies). Interesting more for the ladies than the gents though.
Great staff. V friendly. 1 roast dinner. Really good. 1 mushroom risotto. V tasty. Will definitely be back, although would be nice to have a vegan option in the menu... maybe next time
Very disappointing Sunday roast with the family this afternoon. Dinner was served cold, had to wait 10 minutes for the gravy to arrive, found hairs in the condiments, the dessert came black and charred in the middle, food was insanely overpriced and to top it off the waitress was very rude and found apologising for their mistakes excruciatingly hard work.
Roaring fire, good food, great cask beer and a quiz on the night I dropped in (a Wednesday). Locals very friendly and asked me to join a team. Great fun, and only downside was we didn't win. Good evening though.
Great pub and the owner is lovely and good to talk to. I love sitting next to the fire and looking at the antiques that are for sale!
Lovely quaint pub, staff and public very friendly, lovely place to relax, dog friendly, they do a lovely Sunday lunch
Great pub and good pub food Sunday Lunch is always good child friendly quiz nights on Wednesday
