Wow, what a spectacular find in Oceanside. We are vacationing here and this popped up on Google maps. After reading the reviews we had to try it, and it did not disappoint. They only have one size now, and my wife and I split a "The Works" cheese steak and a small order of Frings (fries and rings). Sub was piles of hot delicious steak, pepper, mushroom and cheese. Super hot, even when I was 3/4 done. Nice people and we met the owner and he was a great guy. Don't pass this place up!
You would think this is a chain but as far as I can tell it is not. I live in LA and let me tell you I do not eat cheesesteaks often. They are hard to find and often not good. The chain places are often abysmal. This spot is the exception. Their cheese steaks are exceptional. Just about perfect. It's a bare bones situation, but worth it.
Although this small hole in the wall spot may look like nothing special, the people who work here are amazing. The cook and cashier were both interactive, engaging, and made a genuine connection with their customer. They both were extremely kind and welcoming. I would come back just for their service alone.
I ordered the basic cheesesteak with old school whiz, onions, and sweet peppers. Reminded me of my work trips to Philly. The bread was perfect. Had a good chewy pull to it a slide crust on the outside, but soft and pliable on the inside. It was packed full and overflowing with savory chopped steak, which had well along with the saltiness of the cheese whiz, the slight bite of the grilled onions, and then topped with the sweet, but mild spice of the peppers. Great sandwich!!
Gotta say that it’s one of the best cheesesteaks that I have tried out here. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Prices a little high but I definitely enjoyed mine. In my opinion, their bread is what makes the cheesesteak one of the best ones out there. It’s soft, won’t scrape the top of your mouth and it adds to the flavorful experience. ???? Great for munchies. ????
I’ve been three or four times now. Every time the cheesesteak has been on point! Garlic waffle fries ???? Also don’t miss the Italian sub. Can’t wait to go back to try their chicken parm sando. I should also mention my sister who is GF had an awesome GF and dairy free cheesesteak “bowl” she said she loved it.
This is a diamond in the rough! People need to know how amazing the food is here! The Stoner Burger is the best burger I've ever had in my life. No exaggerations. Everything in the restaurant is high quality and fresh. Highly recommend this place as a casual normal spot.
I eat here far more often than I would like to admit, but their door is so tasty!! I’ve tried a few things on their menu, and they’re always done to perfection. The pepper cheesesteak is tops ????
I was craving a cheesesteak so I stopped in to try for the first time. I ordered the Mushroom Cheesesteak. Man oh man this was the best cheesesteak I’ve had! Was a big sandwich! The staff was amazing. Thank you. I’ll definitely be back!
