We had an excellent time at the Chalk and Cheese. Friendly service with great food and beer. My All Day Breakfast was really nicely done - quality bacon and sausage - and my wife said the homemade lasagne was absolutely great. Really good place, nice people and great value.
We visited this venue twice in a party of 14 for a light lunch of sandwiches or baguettes. On our first visit, there was a lack of butter, fillings, and salad in both. However, the following day, the landlord had resolved problems with his chef, and the food quality was a four score.
Wow what a gem of a place found in a scenic area.....a real village pub.

Great staff, food and service, a decent locally sourced menu that's very affordable. A lovely pub with lots of things to do, whether it's enjoying a pint, having something to eat or playing pool, darts or skittles, lots of young and older locals with a great atmosphere throughout the week, the chef was excellent and personally made sure everyone having food was being catered for. Look forward to coming back!
Lovely pub and also had delicious sandwiches. Saxon the Manager was extremely friendly and helpful and really enjoyed our visit!
Proper pub for having a drink and some food. Very reasonably priced too. I've enjoyed my visits and will continue to go there. Since we've last been my wife was diagnosed as being coeliac, and they catered very well for her, far better than many places we've been. They know their stuff. Really appreciate that kind of service.
Had a most enjoyable meal and time here, everyone was friendly and the food was very tasty and very well priced. The meat is sourced locally (just near Yeovil), so can't complain about that!
