We stopped here after a trip on the ferry. This was the best meal we had in the whole 10 days we were in Scotland!!! The fish had so much flavor, they treated us with fresh langoustines and the chicken meal had so much flavor. No one was unhappy with their meal in our party of 8. I highly recommend you check this out!
We didn't notice this place while looking for restaurants after hopping off the Harry Potter train, but we are so happy we didn't get into somewhere else and found here instead! I had the soup and can say it was the best I've had in a long time! Perfect flavours, buttered fresh bread, delish! My husband had the fish and chips and raved about it and our son had chicken nuggets, chips and baked beans (what is their obsession with baked beans? haha). We couldn't fault our meals and the man on service that day was wonderful (possibly the owner?). He was run off his feet but did a fabulous job catering to everyone. What a wonderful find!
Stopped by whilst on our Honeymoon. We were very well looked after by the staff, they made sure everything was perfect and were very lovely and chatty. Even though it was very busy and the place pretty much filled up about 5 mins after we sat down (we were the first ones in) we never felt rushed for time which was good.
The food was stunning! Little pricey but it was worth every penny. My husband and I were blown away by how tasty it was, I think it's ruined scallops anywhere else for us now ????. You can really tell how fresh it is. We can't recommend this place enough ????❤️
Visiting for 2 days, was recommended to go here for dinner so we got a takeaway. Langoustines and breaded Monkfish was lovely. However the Calamari rings were tough and overcooked which was disappointing.
We really enjoyed this dinner at Mallaig. The seafood was perfectly cooked and the soups went past over our expectations. Wish we lived nearer and could come back to try the crab. For dessert we ordered Sticky toffee pudding and it tasted fabulous. The waiter was very cheerful and attentive. It's a small restaurant with no reservations so be sure to be there early if u want to get a table (they close early) :)
BEST SALMON I’VE HAD!!
Every dish we ordered here was amazing. Server was very professional and friendly. All the seafood we had was super fresh. We order hake, salmon, monkfish and a whole lobster together with the crab soup. We all loved how they cooked the fish plates in a buttery sauce.
Highly recommend to everyone who comes to Mallaig and will definitely come back!
Extremely glad we stopped here from the Jacobite Train. Food was phenomenal, filling and worth the money! Be prepared to put the time in if you are doing the Jacobite experience, as well as wait. But it is worth every bit of it!
Craig is a fantastic host and a tourist attraction in himself. Super attentive and a joy to chat with. The chef’s were lovely too! We ordered the lentil broth. Langoustine and chicken schnitzel. All absolutely gorgeous. Washed down with excellent local ales. Couldn’t recommend this gem more!
