I just called up the number that is listed on their Facebook page. The person picked up the phone, saying that it's Saturday afternoon and he is sick of this *hit. I called because I wanted to ask if the pub is dog friendly, he answered very sarcastically that it is. Then he proceeded to tell me that it is not a weekday, hence the reason he is annoyed by my call. I asked him if he runs a pub which is open on a Saturday, his answer was yes, so not entirely sure why a phone call about a later visit was all that surprising. He then told me to go away and hung up the phone. What an utterly disgusting way to talk to customers. I will make sure I'll never visit this place ever again and will do my best to spread the message about this horrible approach. Shame on you.
Just been for Breakfast, We gave it a shot, although the outside has looked grim for a year or so Now. However last month saw the arrival of a Cheerful new landlord and now a family run pub. They Served up a terrific breakfast for a 2 for £10 deal. The dining area was clean and bright and I enjoyed the breakfast so much, I will give the Sunday roast deal a try, when visiting Newmarket next.
Very nice place an service all though I felt like a little mis treated since I went one day for lunch an had one price then went over next day had the same an got charge double an did not got serve oj while English customers got there juice an I did not
Brilliant breakfast. Excellent service. Value for money. Nice looking pub too. Friendly staff.
Became my Regular now. Rarely too crowded and the people that serve there are always a nice chat. As a local, this is definitely one of the best in the town!
Looking for a pint and a meal this is the place to
stop at if you are shopping around The Guineas
Newmarket. The menu is varied and all food is
reasonably costed. Helpings and quality are good.
This is a non-threatening place to eat in if you are
on your own and staff are very helpful.
Best steak and ale pie that I have had in years, generous portion too, friendly staff.
Went there on an emergency visit after failed taxi/no way home. Received good service and a pint after hours for me and partner, friendly and helpful, good vibes. Beer tasted strange but I suspect was cos we drinking other substance beforehand. Will go again
