Our daughter booked us to stay overnight on the 25th and 26th December. |We booked in much earlier than usual thanks to the manager. The staff were very welcoming. Breakfast was down as continental but we were pleasantly surprised when we were offered a full cooked breakfast which was really tasty. |Although the building itself is very old it had a lot of character. The room was recently renovated and modern. All in all a very pleasant stay over the Christmas period thanks to the manager.

Strange vibe as I didn't see any other guests and only one man appeared to be working there.

Enjoyable Sunday lunch, choice of beef, chicken and pork. Vegetables were perfectly cooked unlike some restaurants when they’re too firm. Very attentive and friendly service, fair prices and free parking. We will happily return in the future!
We have stayed a number of times. We have seen steady progress in modernisation. The snagging process does not progress as effectively. No hanging rail or hangers. Had to run hot water in the wash basin for a time before any fully hot water in bath or shower, but no instructions, trial and error... Bath/shower very very slow to drain. Nevertheless the room was very comfortable, and we will stay again.
Nice room but strange atmosphere. No food was being cooked and the bar had one other person in. Feels as if it’s getting ready to close down. Shame because it has potential and handy for the a14
Disgusting by the hotel. Booked for 27th April along with other people all been cancelled and they have put the price up by £70-£100 as they are aware event that day. Will make sure no one else books here due to disgusting selfish behaviour
They are going to lose out on a lot of business on the 27th due to them being greedy
The staff was very professional and the premises were exceptionally well maintained. Located in the heart of the town. However the food took a long time to arrive.
Great little hotel, £80 a night with breakfast. The hotel itself looks nothing on the outside but the inside makes up for it, the chaps who run it are very efficient and friendly and make you feel welcome, the rooms are clean and beds very soft and comfy. Large flat screen Tv which was unexpected but great, there was a large fan in the room because it did get quite warm. Little fridge and tea coffee etc. great location for Santa pod and surrounding areas. Would definately recommend and come back. The breakfast was buffet but quality ingredients and fresh also cereal muffins, yoghurts and fruit with fruit juice
