Best KPortal Reviews
A proper, traditional East End boozer. London Pride, Tribute and Hophead (cask) on at the time of my visit (Saturday afternoon), plus a decent selection of craft. Serves a good pint of Guinness.
The pedestrianised area outside makes it very busy for after work drinks when the weather is good. Very reasonable prices for the area.
This appears to be a go-to spot for drinks after work. It’s a typical English pub, cold beers, decent service, not too clean… It gets crowded around 5pm and there are not too many seats and not too many places you can stand around the bar.
This is as a unique pub. It’s starts off well when you walk through the door, but as you head to the smoking area or toilets, it’s pretty bad. Beyond the graffiti, those areas were run down and not so clean.
If you’re partying with friends on a Friday night, this place might be for you. My partner and I felt a bit uncomfortable with the locals half cut shouting across the bar at each other. Particularly at 5pm on a weekend.
Drinks were good though! And the staff were friendly.
Not sure I’d go back, especially given the alternative options so close by.
This place will forever hold legendary status for me. Years ago it was our local, and hosted some very drunken, very sordid, but always amazing affairs. Many good times were had within the walls of this smelly pub.
It's been 33 years since I last visited the Brickies and it hasn't changed.
I use to drink here every Friday after work in an area that was predominantly closed at weekends. It has always had life and soul and that hasn't changed.
Beer was good, atmosphere great although I left as the early evening came rolling in.
Nice to be back
Hidden Pub
Walking around the Great Eastern way from Old street I investigated some side streets and came across Charlotte Street. Only I was here for a birthday, to a woman called Charlotte. As I perused the streets I came across a few interesting places. However I was trying to avoid being too early to her birthday and found this pub. What drew me was the bright red lights. Not sure what it meant but I wanted to try it out.
It's Saturday night and the place is busy but I still found a seat. Big plus for an old geezer like me. It's comfortable inside and not too loud. They are playing 80s and 90s music. The staff are friendly. There was a wide selection of draft beers. It was time to sip a refreshing IPA, sit back and enjoy the night.
This place is okay.
Very shoreditch local wet house. They serve the usual mass beers such as Camden and Beavertown. A bit of a snore as I feel they could serve more ‘local’ beers to embrace the area more.
The toilets are full of graffiti. They should be marked more clearly which one is male and female as I mistakenly went to the wrong one.
The outdoor space is okay.
Very good pub for drinks, does a nice Guinness and sun sets along the road. I don’t believe there’s food sold here
