Absolutely superb. Great to see an independent thriving on the high street and showing the supermarkets how bread etc should be made without E-additives, preservatives and longevity chemicals.
I don't live particularly close but will happily drive past 3 supermarkets to buy my bread here.
If any of my mates listen to me, you'll have many more customers soon.
Very helpful staff, bought some wonderfully baked products, made in a way I would call first class. Great and freshly baked stottie cakes, a Cheese and Onion pasty to live for, great flavour smooth and creamy potato with plenty of cheese in the filling.
It is a little way from where I live but will be WELL worth a journey back to buy more Many I would certainly recommend this shop for its high 5 standard ????
Called in today, this was my first visit to the shop.The Bakery was recommended to me & I finally made a visit.
I could see from the outset that this was a popular Bakery by the number of customers waiting to be served.
Very friendly & polite staff.
Good selection of locally produced bakery items.
I bought an uncut brown loaf & two mince pies.
The price was reasonable & the produce was very nice & fresh.
I wasn't disappointed.
I forgot to ask if they made Stottie Cakes.
I'll call back & pop the question sometime soon.
Great to see that there are still Family run Bakeries in the area.

Visited bread basket yesterday for the first time and we are sure it's not going to be the last. We ordered quite a few things the sausage roll, chicken curry rice were amazing. The egg and ham quiche ( on the house!) tasted phenomenal and is definitely a must try for anyone wanting to eat a good quiche. The staff was very kind and pricing is really economical. Definitely a must try place for anyone visiting Ryhope or Sunderland!!!!
Just had Mince and Dumplings this Friday. Spot on time with delivery at 1230. Came piping hot. Dumplings were home made, mash was lovely and the mince/gravy really tasty...always telll when freshly cooked.
One of the best Take Away meals we have ever had and we will be regulars now. Top notch all round!
The best steak and kidney pies - you can actually taste the small chunks of kidney (which is usually minced in pies now). Crisp, light shortcut pastry and a good ratio of gravy to meat. Lovely bread buns too.
The service in the shop can be slow so be prepared for a wait but the pies are worth it!
