It was a good dinner ! Good food and good place !
Three of us went here late afternoon on a Friday. Had never been before but what a wonderful place! Nicely done out cafe style but with a bar to front and very cosy and plenty of continued dining areas on the upper floors, so don't be put off by the immediate small frontage. The lady who served us was excellent. We order three main meals, which were cooked to perfection and you certainly get your monies worth. I can also highly recommend the strawberry milkshake. 1 pot of tea was adequate for at least 3 cups. Excellent place and a big well done to staff. We will definitely be returning in the future!
Disappointing meal today.chips were coloured but not cooked, eggs were over cooked so hard and crunchy on the bottom. Breaded plaice was overcooked crunchy so shot across plate when cut. Should have sent back but had waited 50 mins to get served. Had to remind girl about pot of tea. Told chef had walked out and owner was cooking and they were short staffed.
Quirky old-fashioned style venue with superb food and more than generous portions. Prices relatively decent. Good choice and a lot is homemade. Coming here now since I was a young lad.
Great pot of tea at a great price. Lovely lady serving. Worth seeing the plaques on the back of the toilet doors. Very funny
