Staying in a cottage a 15 minute walk away, we had decided to have a wander to the local for a few beers and some tea. We had our dog with us who was made to feel welcome straight away. Had a quick chat with one or two locals before taking our seats. Real ale was very reasonable price at £3.70/pint which I would say by today’s standards is really good. Clearly kept very well and tasted lovely. When I asked about food, Michelle had explained she didn’t have a full menu available as she’d had a family issue to deal with. We were very grateful for this. We made our choice from what was available - 2 x haddock and 2 x lasagna. Both with homemade chips and salad. Lasagna looks homemade from scratch and was delicious - as was the haddock. This is a lovely pub run by smashing people who clearly care for what they do and they go out of their way to make customers (including strangers, like us) very welcome. I will definitely pop in again should I be in the area.
The blue post inn is a nice traditional village pub. There is a good choice of beers, lager and cider, including two great Newsome, cask conditioned, real ales. The real ale was excellent when I visited. A dog friendly, welcoming cosy pub. There is a TV and outside seating. Definitely worth visiting.
A lovely little pub, the food was amazing and the service was friendly. The bar has a good range of local breweries, take the time to visit ????
I have been to The Blue Post many times over the years, mainly after playing cricket in the surrounding villages or on route home.
We stopped by last night for a quick one to be greeted by the new landlord Gary who I have known for a while now.
The place has been recently revamped and has a cosy feel to it, with a vast amount of drink on offer including on top cocktails! I also ordered a pizza which was cooked fresh and tasted great with a mixture of toppings. The menu it self had a load of choice on too.
If you’re passing North Frodingham or in the area do not hesitate to visit The Blue Post!
We had a beautiful home cooked lunch with an assortment of fresh seasonal vegetables that were cooked to absolute perfection. There was a very good selection of drinks. The Pub is very comfortable and the Landlord and Landlady couldn’t have been more accommodating - 1st Class service. We will definitely be visiting again next season. Thank you Gary and Michelle.
Absolutely amazing home cooked meal with lots of lovely seasonal vegetables.
Super friendly and dog friendly. Reasonably priced food and very clean
Great little village pub , food was amazing, tikka masala as good as any Indian restaurant I've been in , lamb shank was melt in the mouth and liver and onions delicious, portions were very generous with lots of fresh seasonal vegetables , real find whilst on holday in a nearby local village . Also dog friendly ????
Visited the blue post yesterday. What an amazing experience the landlord was very welcoming and the food that Michelle cooked was superb ... in all I couldn't fault it. We will definitely be visiting again soon!!
