Best KPortal Reviews

This place is horrible. My employer booked me here for a night without checking with me. All was good to begin. Checked in at the empty quiet bar around 3pm and was given room keys etc and info on how to access rooms at night.
Returned around 10.30pm after work to find a fight going on outside which the 2 bouncers were chosing to ignore. Fought my way through a now packed and noisy karaoke pub to the room. The clientele here you wouldnt want to meet in a daylit alley let alone a dark one. Opened the door and found other people's stuff in there. Went back to see what was going on at the bar. Took nearly 20 minutes to get attention as the staff continued to serve people wanting drinks and felt like I was being purposely ignored. Finally got the attention of a young lad who said there was a mistake and came up to check. He returned and grabbed another key took me upstairs to check all was OK with the replacement room. Opened the door to find 2 people "kissing" on the bed....
Barman went back to the bar, the I assume landlady then appeared with the key to the third room. Apologised for the mistake and let me in. A sense of trepidation has now set in...
The third room was indeed unoccupied, but that's where the positivity ends.
I checked about breakfast before she went and was told I wouldn't get breakfast before 9.30am as that's when the lady who cooks it comes in. No good as I was due to leave back for work by 8.45. Realising the room had no WiFi or phone signal I popped to rear exit door to make a phonecall and whilst looking down into the beer garden witnessed and out in the open drug deal involving a bag of pills. Beating a hasty retreat to the room and bolting myself in.
The room itself is tiny with only a foot or less of space between one of the beds and the radiator to squeeze past to get to the bathroom. There are stains on the walls, furniture, mattress and floor. Nothing has been hoovered. Tea tray has a jar of mixed damp coffee, a stained mug and no milk. Mould growing on ceilings, walls, and even the glasd of the window. Dead wasp on the window sill and the curtains are too small letting in light both ends. The bed is narrow, soft and lumpy and the pillow cheap and thin. Next morning discovered I'd been bitten on my legs badly. Fleas or bedbugs?
The bathroom is equally stained and grubby with part of the wall hanging off by the toilet. No towel rail or toilet paper holder both just sit on the unmopped floor.
Previous guest's linx shower gel left in there. Turned the shower on (mould growing under the clear plastic on the controller). Pressure of the water forced the head out and soaked everything because the thing that holds it is broken.
Will never stay here again and will be advising my employer and the local environmental health officer of my findings. Disgraceful.
To quote will from the in-betweeners "you couldn't help feel that a ***t on the floor might help cheer the place up a bit"
Stayed for one night, £50 for bed and breakfast. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable, ensuite, tea, and coffee facilities in the room, as was a television. Breakfast was brilliant, very large, and cooked perfectly, and other options were available. Pub itself was welcoming by the staff and locals. A very pleasant atmosphere and a great experience.
You know when you walk into a pub on a Winter's Saturday night and it's warm and cosy and the windows are steamed up. The sounds of laughter, conversation and background music let you know it's not going to be a quiet night but one where you'll end up chatting to strangers and having a thoroughly enjoyable time.
Used to be a regular , 4 5 months ago . You all know me in the pub as justin . Today kenny was in there, knew we meet soon after 2 years off been accused as a nonce. Today was my judgment day he a little bully ect. Caused me to be stabbed , I appoogigse about the pub signs but this has caused me so much problem , I wasn’t going over sorry, kenny stated all this Chinese whispers stuff . Who is this kenny guy, herd loads off rumours. Thank you for bringing my phone to me , if I’ll camed back would be carnige. No that note , card was written months ago , I know I’m bared now, well let’s look at it like this , got my own back sorry your establishment was involved but never seen him in there before . Think sue knows all the gossip, that guy is something else, going to come round tonight he says , oh so brave off him. I apologise for any damage and know now I’m barred for ever
Brilliant place for food. Not alot of vegan options but blown away by the quantity and quality of the food - amazing. Incredibly cheap too.
An actual pub, a rare thing in Frome. No pretention, it is what it is. A pub for locals to drink and talk rubbish with strangers, who are mostly friendly. The beer isn't great which is a shame.
Just arrived in frome about 6 hours ago...took a room in the Blue Boar, best £55 I've ever spent, an older lady has just spoken to me, I think she was local. Being from just south of Manchester, I couldn't understand a word she was saying... she seemed to be in charge of local bear mat throwing team...Great fun was had by spectators and competitors. 10/10
Proper pub with no thrills. Only one ale hence the slightly low score. Has a separate area for the pool table and a good selection on the juke box. Friendly bar staff
