Perfect little gem in the bustle of tourism. We came post lunch peak (as we thought) kitchen was still busy. The staff - friendly and professional - kept us informed. The wait was less than expected and the food was lovely. I'd walk 10 mile coastal path again if it meant I could visit The Black Dog again.
What an amazing place, the history of this pub is wonderful. Old beams everywhere. Great old fire place. Said to be the oldest pub in Weymouth. I went in for a beer which was alright. Food served here too. If you like your history well worth a visit. Lighting ain't over powering, on the dim side but adds to the moment. Staff were friendly. Absolutely loved my visit.
Absolutely awful welcoming from the bar staff, is 100% a zero star, wouldn’t recommend. Didn’t eat, wouldn’t eat, people walked in and then out, probably same greeting as we had. ????♀️ - Nice try at deflecting away from the truth, granted only 1 star reviews but they’ve all deserved in, none more than yourselves, again zero star establishment.
Great pub, can't comment on food overly as have not tried but menus look good. Brilliant atmosphere and staff and very historic pub. Live music regularly, a bit quiet this time of year but a fabulous place
Great food with a good choice of ales and they're also dog friendly. It was a quiet day when we visited, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal in atmospheric surroundings whilst we sheltered from the appalling weather!
We're looking forward to visiting again during the summer.
Came here for a swift drink. Handy location in the town centre and service was swift. Didnt eat but would have considered if a few more vegan options. Nice tables at the front on sunny days.
We use this pub when ever we are in Weymouth and have always had a warm welcome, the drinks and food are excellent value and quality also it is dog friendly. The live music is a fantastic bonus. We recommend the Black Dog to any body who wants to sample a great traditional English pub with top class food and drink. Personally we feel the no children is a good move.
Just visited from a cruise ship and happened to find the Black Dog. The place was incredible and the history goes back to the 1500s. Just for that, they deserve 5????. I wish I could have spent the entire day there. Best of lunch and 500 more year's.
