Wee hidden gem above the pub was pleasantly surprised at the spacious clean room .modern and well worth the cost |.lee the staff member went out his way and was extremely helpful …great wee place to stay and location to railway station 2 minute walk
Great pub, very lively and great staff
Fantastic atmosphere so friendly and welcoming Elaine and her team go the extra mile would reccomend 5***** Funny locals who are equaily funny characters was spliting my sides with laughter, brightenend my day!!!!! :>)
Unsure as to why this place has received negative reviews. Currently cycling lands end to John o’groats and I stumbled across this accommodation last minute. Ferne, the barmaid couldn’t have been any more helpful and the group of Locals couldn’t have been any better, they asked me if my cycle was for charity, when I said yes, without any further questions they then paid £20 each towards my charity effort. They have been without doubt the most welcoming and entertaining people I have met on my travels. Both the bar maid and the locals have made such a lasting impression that I am certain to return just to see them again ||||||Great pub with fantastic people, salt of the earth customers and staff who would do anything for anyone
The rooms are nice to a point. Unfinished decor but nothing major. No cleaning /cleaners the breakfast isn't what you think. It's basically self catering a tiny fridge with bread butter and juice. If you want food you can cook it yourself. The tap in the kitchen area pops off when you turn the tap on. The area is not friendly I was approached by a number of different people and offered drugs. Felt really uncomfortable during my whole stay. The water in the room was boiling hot even on cold until it ran for a few minutes. As did the tap in the kitchen so not sure if it was completely safe to drink. The only decent thing was the room being clean semi decent. I was quizzed by someone in a shop asking who I was and where I was from. Not a place I will ever return to.
Anyone with a disability is not welcome here as they refuse to provide access or disabled toilets. There is a door where wheelchairs can get in but it is always locked. The fire door is used as a back door and is constantly blocked by people., no social distancing seemed to be happening and staff don't bother implementing it either.
There's a lovely outside area just been built, a perfect chance to include access for disabled customers but guess what? Yip, no disabled access again. Way to go to make us feel like 2nd class citizens.
The room was clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. Good value for money. Continental breakfast is included. Yes it was a little noisy as on the Main Street so some traffic noise but ear plugs are provided if needed. The staff are lovely, and we would stay again.
Staff are perfect but drinks taste a little watered down. Might explain why they're cheaper though.
