Food was to be expected, not gourmet but fills a hole. The service was very slow, the desserts didn't come out at the same time because the adult dessert was ordered a bit later and the kitchen lost the ticket. Then when I asked for a refund the manager was very slow to come out. And it was a quiet Monday. The staff were friendly and the decor was fine.
Visited for lunch and regret going for buffet options on the day. Very very limited on vegetarian options, my daughter ended up eating only potatoes. All was cold ish. Was told meat was super dry and if not for the gravy would not be able to swallow- not a great sign. Yorkshire pudding was chewy. Meat was served by person behind the counter and limited portion. If we went for orders from the menu the outcome may have been different.
Had to queue at the bar to pay for buffet or oder and serve the drinks myself.
Most likely would not return.
Our first restaurant as we started our short break. The food is good, but a big pity on the cleanliness of the place. The place really needs a deep clean. The carpets were so dirty and stained. Apart from that the tables and the food made up for the downfall. That is why I rated it 4 stars.
Nice atmosphere upon arrival. Enough seat choice when we arrived. Went to the bar to order food and drinks. Waiting over 1 hour to be served our food. The kids were starving. Food arrived and we just didn't want to eat it anymore.
Potato was very lumpy and very dry. Did not seem to have any milk or butter in it. Think the cook must have been sacked from McDonalds.
All seems a little rushed with that said service very slow. One person on the bar a select few of the staff chatting in the corner, while the few that was working, worked hard. Drinks came after the food although ordered at the same time. . Have yet ro sample the food as after an hour we are still waiting.
About 20 staff walking around with only 2 serving. Queues to the door. Carvery time given as 12.30 even tho food started at 12, nearly 1 by time carvery actually opened. App to order food/drinks not working. Slow to clear tables so others stood in the doorway waiting to be seated. Poor experience.
Lovely Tikka Masala & Mixed Grill here plus some nice 2 for £10 cocktails.
