A proper traditional English pub. Very friendly staff, decent drinks prices. There's what I would call a 'yard' (rather than a garden, there's no grass) out the back, a pleasant place to catch the sun and sip a drink.
We really enjoyed our one night stay at this pub hotel. We’ve found that the nicest hotels in York are the ones that are also pubs. |The room was spacious with a large bathroom. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The breakfast was lovely we had full Yorkshire breakfasts and there was plenty of toast, cereal and tea, coffee and juice. The staff were all absolutely lovely and very welcoming. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re visiting York, whether it’s for one night or much longer you will definitely be comfortable.
arrived here with my Daughter and wasn't sure on parking . The staff was really helpful and guided me to the car park. |we was taken to our room which was nice and cosy. there was ample tea and coffee facilities and also hot chocolate. |The following day we came down and had breakfast. there was lots to chose from. cereals, fruit, yoghurt etc. we had a full English, which was lovely . the ladies who worked there made sure everything was OK and asked us if we wanted any more tea or coffee.|I had left my car in the car park and the staff member said she would move her car so I could park mine while we went shopping. I thought that was lovely gesture. so we came back to collect the car at 2pm.|I think it was the staff went out their way to make us feel very welcome .|lovely pub and staff. I will definitely come back here. I think it's a lovely place and very cheap for 2 of us including a fantastic breakfast. |I've recommended it to my friend's and family already !
Beautiful pub in York. Great atmosphere and the best bar staff. We travelled from Scotland and were made to feel very welcome. Highly recommend.
The staff we met were really nice. The room we had was clean but basic. Bed mattress was rock hard and there was music playing loudly until 11.00 in pub below the rooms sadly. Pub doesn't do breakfast so had to go elsewhere..wouldn't stay again
Great place to stay to be near York centre. Rooms immaculately clean. Friendly staff. Car parking on-site for a reasonable cost. Lots of good eating places nearby. Great stay and would recommend.
Excellent location rooms we're superb and very clean staff were really friendly and very helpful parking is avaliable at this property at a small cost breakfast was lovely definitely be booking here again fab
