I would personally like to counteract any negative feedback recently posted about this lovely little pub…
Whilst being fairly new to frequenting The Bath Tavern myself, a couple of months now I would say of fairly regular visits…I can honestly say as somebody who has worked in high level customer service roles within a prestigious Motor Company for many years and also more recently in the hospitality field, it is without doubt nothing like what the previous review suggests….
I have never written a google review for anywhere before be it good or bad, yet feel so compelled to defend the rather clumsy attempt at tarnishing this fantastic little pub’s reputation!!
This pub is warm and inviting, it is staffed by the most friendly team, headed up by the Manager, such a welcoming, non judgemental, polite and exceedingly great barman with extreme attention to detail and customer desire that I am baffled how anyone could find fault in the service or atmosphere.
This pub is always filled with many a local on a daily or weekly basis who choose to come here despite many other local pubs situated around the area…it is full of atmosphere, you will always find people sat there enjoying each others company, laughing and talking, you can walk in alone as a stranger but leave feeling you have made friends, as somebody who has entered the pub alone seeking a safe space to gather my thoughts, I never expected to find such warm and friendly people always happy to have a chat or leave you in peace if that is what you so wish… the bar is well stocked and well priced, nothing is too much trouble for the team that work there. I urge anyone to go and see for yourself that this little pub that sits just before you enter the main centre of town is not to be passed by, you will find a perfect blend of good quality beers ciders and ales, spirits and wines..all priced extremely reasonably given todays market, it is always immaculately clean and inviting and filled with the friendliest of people…
The industry is so very lucky to have staff like they do. There are some strange and “creepy” people in the world granted… but none of these people work or frequent this lovely little boozer!
I hope this helps to restore some positive feedback into a place that has given me so much more than the odd glass of wine or pint of cider!!
You will be delighted that you did not pass it by, just as I am and now consider it my favourite place to be when in need of a quiet beer or some good company!!
Only stopped in for one with a mate on the way back home from Bath road. Never been before and would never go again.
Love all kinds of pubs, bars, restaurants and always have a chat and laugh with people and staff but this is more like someone’s dirty living room that they have ransoms round for drinks.
Honestly don’t know how it’s still going, creepy place with creepy people and creepy little bartender as well.
100% don’t go unless you like that kind of vibe and terrible atmosphere.
Busy pub just off the beaten track. Excellent after work atmosphere, good drop if Wye Valley HPA and a game of Shut-the-box, what's not to like.
Unfriendly atmosphere. Rude Staff. Staff expect you to clean the pub for them. Refuse service if you've forgot to bring your empties to the bar, if you apologise and say you'll bring it up next time. They will be unmannered unpleasant demand you to bring them now before they serve you. First time with this unique unkind service anywhere

1st time in this pub, Sophie was so very welcoming, such a lovely young lady.
will definitely be returning. And im sure our Son will also be using the Tavern as his local now.

I have always liked this pub. It is small but always welcoming. The barmaid on this occasion was friendly and efficient.
Few drinks in here. Nice and friendly...We met the guys from the Treorchy Male Choir really nice people, we had a drink and a chat with before they left for their rehearsal
