Lovely warm, friendly atmosphere. First visit and felt like one of the family! Our host Judith joined in our conversation without being intrusive. Food was served at a leisurely pace and when it arrived was WELL worth the wait. Tasty, appetizing and looked/tasted the business!! Lovely rustic surroundings made it warm, comfortable and relaxing. An absolute delight!!
One of my favourite restaurants in North Wales! The beer is imported from Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic and the food is absolutely amazing. If you like hearty meals then this place is definitely for you. My suggestion is try the soup, I will have to get the recipe from the chef. I will be making the most of this absolute gem before the owners retire at the end of the year :(
A special little restaurant in the most amazing setting. We went with our 2 children and received a warm welcome, delicious, hearty food and quality imported beers. A wonderful dining experience with the extra personal touch from the hostess. Thank you.
The spinach and red cabbage sides are amazing. It's not fancy food or particularly good looking but it tastes amazing and you won't go home hungry. Definitely worth a visit. Hope to visit again.
Had Sunday lunch. Staff are very friendly. Good portion sizes. Really good atmosphere. Will be going back for dinner later this week. As someone else said, this place is a hidden gem.
Lovely warm welcome and very enjoyable food. Will be back. Thank you Judith for the materials day surprise gift. Was a real please to meet you and we look forward to our next visit.
Lady seemed nice for a second till i spoke and asked for table.. her face changed and said no too busy.(they only open a few days a week).. walked past an hour later and place was dead...week later my wife tried and again seemed nice till she asked for table then rudely told no....again place was dead....dont think she likes the Scots.....ended up at the fairy glen pub next door which serves great food and has wonderful staff and ended up spending around £150 ....according to the locals its a grotty place with lower than average food and not really worth the money anyway.
My partner and I visit the Austrian every month and have done for the last five years. I bore all of my friends and family with how amazing the goulash soup is (it really is, you really HAVE to try it!), and must have single handedly brought half the population of Conwy to try it at some point.
In addition to providing some of the best food and beer in North Wales, the proprietors, Judith and Fredi, are extremely welcoming, as are all the staff. It is our favourite place to eat without question.
