Very friendly staff, excellent food (we had port side platter and Anchor sundae, missing out on the Sunday roast various about us were relishing ????) and good drinks.
We plan to return one Sunday ????????

Lovely couple of days at the Anchor..We had a lovely en-suite double room with views all round views of the river and countryside…food was fantastic. Can recommend the steak loaded fries..they were absolutely superb. A big shout out to all of their staff..nothing was too much trouble to them.Hope to return soon.
Didn't stop there but
always a great night in the Anchor, really good staff and reasonably priced drink. Good food selection, served and presented well. Certainly won't be my last night in there. I would give a full 5 star but they need a few more real ales on .

Stopped here a few times on a short break in Kippford. Had some food and drinks. The view outside is lovely and they have a good variety on the menu as well as daily specials. Worth a stop
We had an amazing meal here. I had the steak loaded chips which were lush and my partner had the steak and ale pie & cheesecake dessert. Could not fault it. Felt it for the guy working as he was the bar staff / waiter and booking taker all rolled into one. Still great service non the less!
We accidentally came across the Anchor Hotel whilst down for a weeks holiday nearby. We went back for dinner and sat outside with a stunning view across the water in the evening. The food was great and both staff members who served us were very polite and welcoming.
We sat outside as our dog can't sit at peace for more than 2 minutes, however the layout was excellent for us. Inside was lovely as well with a nice fireplace by the bar giving the place a warm and cosy feeling.
We'll be back again before leaving :).
Mothers Day meal out with the wife and our dog booked for 5pm arrived at 4.50pm table near the fire and bonus of football on tv, friendly staff, reasonably priced and 2 menus and specials board, we opted for the main menu i had Steak pie chips and veg and the wife steak and chips it really was excellent, for pudding i had biscoff cheesecake and the wife a Sundae again excellent. Thank you for looking after us and our dog we certainly will return when back again next year ????????????
Lovely lunch in the Anchor. Full and varied menu served piping hot. Great customer service in nice surroundings. Recommend booking as it's very popular. 5*
