This used to be a regular takeaway.
Not anymore. Ordered a meal and on collection was told that they no longer take cards, meals are smaller, chop suey is half the size. Sweet and sour items had less than before. Despite a telephone order I was supposed to be a mind reader about them now requiring cash only. I was only told on calling to collect. I was tempted to leave the meal behind but I went and got cash. I wish I hadn't. There was barely any taste in the chop suey.
Just had one of the worst Chinese takeaways ever. Had lemon chicken with egg fried rice. Rice was really stodgy and bland of taste. The texture of the chicken was really tough - like it had been boiled. The batter wasn’t crispy at all, and had just come away from the chicken. A bowl of stodge. All in all a real let down and such a waste of money. Won’t be going back
Gone down hill…. Twice they have taken my order, re read the order back to me, quoted me how much, and twice now we have had dishes missing. and then they have the cheek to try to charge extra for them!!! twice now we have sat down to eat our food, and then had to drive back again! By then the food is cold, and me and the Mrs are both pissed off!! SORT IT OUT TASTY HOUSE!!! IF YOUR CHINESE FOOD WASNT THE BEST IN DOWNHAM MARKET ID TELL YOU TO POKE IT!!! See you again soon.
Amazing takeaway, great value for money, free fortune cookies and prawn crackers - couldn’t ask for a better Chinese
New to the area and had the dreaded process of finding the good takeaway option, unfortunately this wasn’t it. Everything was bland. Chips were soggy, satay sauce was tasteless and the sweet and sour chicken was just super tangy. Spent a fair chunk of change and only had a few forkfuls.
By far the best Chinese takeaway for miles around. I'm a Londoner and this beats all my locals hands down. Almost every time I visit my family in Downham we order from Tasty House and are never disappointed. The mixed vegetables are delicious and a great variety not mostly cabbage and mushrooms like most places. All the meat is succulent and delicious. The lady who runs it is super friendly and always a pleasure to see. Make sure you check out this local gem!
Some of the best food I’ve had in ages. Got BBQ spare ribs, special fried rice and schezuapn beef. Ribs were very good size and well cooked. Rice was good. Beef was fantastic. Very impressed.
We've been good customers here but sadly the quality of the food is different every time we order. Last time we ordered it was dreadful enough is enough.
