Excellent service. I asked if they could do an emergency repair earlier today so that I could drive home to The Midlands. Three hours later the repair was done and dusted. The charge was very reasonable. I was extremely grateful for their positive and helpful response and would heartily recommend Tankerton Garage Ltd.
Have known Simon for years. He always gives a great service at a reasonable cost. He always explains what the problem is with your vehicle before he starts work so you know exactly what you're paying for. 0
I would like to say how delighted I am with Tankerton Garage. I have taken my car there on a few occasions now and have been really pleased with the service received. Simon is efficent and professional and so is Sheila who deals with the admin. I recently needed a wing mirror replaced and one was ordered and the job was done the very next day even though it was an impromptu request. Just used them for a MOT, never again thought I would support the local business what a mistake, should have known it wasn't going to be good when a previous customer was complaining just before I entered. Failed my MOT on headlight aiming too low, a simple adjustment would have fixed the problem, but not here. Do not bother booking here unless you want a rude arrogant man to scream insults at you, and take your money would rather drive 50 miles to a reputable Garage than spend a penny lining this crooks pocket.
Awful Awful Awful!!Booked the car in asked them to service and look at the particle filter as the light was on. 5 hours later we collect the car. He had driven it 6 times. Including a jolly up the road he charged me for. Despite talking to me about the issue for 20 mins the other day he FORGOT why he took it out. Said he didn't notice the hazzard light coming one (guys he's a mechanic doing a service!)
When he went to switch the 'service' light off he couldn't do it. (Probably because you have to service it)
He then wrote a load of fault codes down charged me £200 for work I truly believe he didn't do. Gave me a piece of paper said Service on it but included no parts and no part numbers.
35 years driving and I've had some dodgy mechanics and some good ones. This guy may either be incompetent, a swindler or an imbacile.
Either way when I challenged it and offered to pay for the parts on presentation of his receipts but not the labour he refused to present them.
Simon and the family always do their best to get you back on the road, safely and with the least amount of spend necessary. Hard working, honest and always friendly.
Simon always finds the answer and has never gouged me on the price . Friendly , approachable and very knowledgeable . My favourite local garage and sadly a dying breed .
Sheila and Simon are a dedicated, lovely couple whom took care of dad's car.
