In my view these are the best fish and chips in this part of Derby. It's a traditional fish and chip shop, though you can get a kebab if you really want one. With fish and chips this good though why would you choose anything else. If you want a large fish, it's worth asking the friendly team to pop one in while you are in the queue since they don't always have some ready.
Good local chipshop that has stayed pretty true to their roots. It's changed a bit over the years, and we've moved away, but the Sussex circus chipshop remains a staple when we visit family.
From working in and around Derby, I've tried a few chip shops over the years in the city. After recommendation from a work colleague about Sussex Circus I decided next time I'm in the area I would call in. I'm so glad I did this is the best one by far. The fish was tasty and the batter was just right, chips were also cooked perfectly for me. The prices are very good in my opinion as so many other chip shops have gone up a lot in recent times. This is definitely my go to chippy if I'm around Derby ... cannot recommend enough !! Well done Sussex Circus Fish Bar.
In my appinion Sussex circus is fish and chip shop of very high standards,is always wonderfully fresh fish and a good helping of nice chips.I personally have never found better in the Derby area. The only let down for me is it as not got a seating area ,as I don't live in Chaddesden any more.
The best chip shop in the whole of chadasden never had a bad tasting meal from their have friendly staff and very clean must visit 100% satisfaction guaranteed
Fish and chips every Friday and usually always been good but since the young lad starting his very stingy with chips. I'm not being funny but the portion of his chips looks like for kids meal or OAP meal.

Delicious. I'm very fussy and a have a delicate stomach since Covid. Batter golden and crispy. Chips golden (not anaemic and dry). Peas hot when my hubby got home. The first time I've enjoyed chippy tea in a long while. Will be back.
