There are several Japanese/Sushi restaurants on Cowley Road, but from my experiences of Sushi is the best! Food was fresh, delicious, and well presented! The service was quick, friendly and kind! The restaurant itself is very clean with a delightful atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting soon!!
I have no idea why i never hear about this place, i tried pretty much all sushi places within the Oxfordshire, but this place is WAY WAY better. Sushi are so fresh, presented beautifully and arrive so quick to your table.
Takoyaki(octopus balls) where the freshest and softest with that crunch. Chicken gyoza - deliciously crunchy and juicy.
Absolutely lovely place! From now on this is my favorite sushi place in Oxford for dine in or take away! And their prawn tempura sushi - is another level.
This place guys, you definitely need to visit! next time you in Oxford skip the Sushi corner or Taberu sushi, and come over to this family running place. Only 4 month on the market so they need a bit of more advertisement.
A very nice friendly little place, with some of the best sushi in Oxford. We got the superior platter and it was excellent, would definitely recomment Sushi Yi to anyone. The salmon and the scalops were amazing.
I’m glad to visited this restaurant, the quality of the food was really good. Salmon nigiris were good and well made. Tempura, gyozas, we enjoyed every bite of them. If you fancy some sushis, this restaurant is a good recommendation for a meal.
This place is so underrated.
The sushi is spectular, especially the tuna is such high quality, I was shocked to see the place wasn't full on a Saturday night considering this might be the best sushi restaurant in Oxford!
Tuna sashimi and pumpkin croquettes were definetely my highlight.
The staff is lovely and very attentive.
One of the most decent Japanese dishes I had in Oxford, and pricing is not bad! Haven't seen unagi with kimchi before but who cares, kimchi was nice too.
Our most favourite is takoyaki and lion king maki. Overall, food are great and super delicious. They dont offer halal chicken/beef. We were informed by the staff that they use only vinegar in their sushi rice. So, Muslims can only eat seafood-based or vegetarian sushi. Hopefully in the future, Sushi Yi can provide halal options, and I am sure they can capture a bigger market as halal sushi competition is very limited ????????
A hidden gem in oxford, really delicious authentic sushi and hot food, best in the area! Definitely worth a visit ????????????
