Trying to find the best oxtail, used to go to all island grill but closed down, then pepper spice was a fail on the oxtail but there Patties are amazing and not to miss then Ewarts jerk oxtail was great at first then was not the same after two more purchases.
Then found survivor, friendly staff. The women was very accommodating and friendly, I ordered a large oxtail and not expected this behemoth portion but was very satisfied for £12 and £1 for a can drink.
This was by far the best oxtail I've had in hackney so far and will return again.
Was unable to give a rating on anything other than the food as I ordered a delivery. Food tasted good but far too many bones and gristle in the stewed chicken. And I chose two rice , one with peas and that did not come.
Salt fish was dry probably reheated in the microwave from frozen and Macaroni cheese well where was the cheese. Even the foxed won’t eat it
Came here because Peppers & Spice was closed. Food not kept at the right temperature and reheated for 20 seconds (praying I don't get food poisoning). Saltfish just tasted like black pepper and nothing else, festival was average..... By the time I got to the Beef Patty my mouth could only taste black pepper.

Bought a portion of jerk yesterday and it was just so daaamn good. It was hot off their custom jerk pan that I fell in love with straight away being a bbq man myself. The staff were friendly and easy to communicate with.The chicken was juicy, fall off the bone with just the perfect amount of flavour. I was enjoying it so much I savored every bite that I ate half on my drive to Cambridge and the other half on my return to London.????????????
The WORST Caribbean restaurant in Dalston!! The young guy that served me was RUDE with a stroppy attitude! I was the only customer in the place dinning in, so the staff were not run off their feet busy and the atmosphere was unfriendly and frosty. After ordering from the big menu on the wall. Only to be told that they only had three main dishes. This was displayed on a tiny whiteboard on a wall hidden in the kitchen area where staff serve. Completely out of sight! I made it clear I would be eating in. Absolutely NO customer service whatsoever! To my horror, I was informed that they don't give plates to customers that eat in. So, my sit down meal was presented in takeaway plastic containers. I've never experienced this foolishness before!! The RUDE young guy that served me shouted out the amount I had to pay. Unprofessional. So I went back to the counter, paid for my meal and asked for a fork as all I was given was a plastic spoon. Didn't he know that plantain is easier to eat with a fork rather than a spoon?! I won't be coming back here again. And after reading the previous customer complaints reviews, I should have never decided to come in. Unfortunately I read the reviews after I'd already ordered. The food was average and the plantain was oily, stodgy and clumped together. AVOID!!
Busy take away in Dalston but good quality food at reasonable prices. Staff work hard to serve, sometimes a bit of a wait but the results are most enjoyable.
