Return visit for us (the walkers) after 1 year. Happy to say hotel met our expectations once again. Great location...free parking in front of hotel....great views from the bar terrace. Very friendly service again from Dave the owner. The breakfast as before was superb.
We really enjoyed our stay at Summer's Bay Hotel! We felt so warmly welcomed by Dave and Amy, it's just really relaxing being there! The hotel and rooms are so comfortable and make you feel at ease and 'at home'. Please book the front room facing the sea - the scenery is gorgeous, although failing that, the beer garden has awesome views too. Breakfast is indeed spectacular and so comforting and filling - on super hot plates, no less! The evening pub, hosted by Dave and Amy themselves in fine fashion, is a lovely chance to get to know people visiting and local, and they have a huge range of drinks to choose from. Special treat - we came back from a boat trip and Dave had taken photos from the hotel as we arrived and printed them out for us - so thoughtful and kind. It's such a treat having such wonderful hosts! Really recommended!
We had filming crew staying at Summer's Bay during a shoot on Rothesay. Amy and David were so helpful with finding us accommodation and looking after the crew whilst they were staying. We keep antisocial hours on film shoots, but they still found time to make the guests feel welcomed and at home. Thank you! Would come back and stay again for my holidays.
Nice hotel Dave the owner is friendly and perfect host.||Breakfast is all you need keep you going all day. Nice clean comfy room and comfy bed. Bar has good choice of drinks and very reasonable prices. Some saying rooms out dated this is possibly due to fact they bought just before covid struck and Dave has plans for alterations which will sort this out. He is brilliant cook so hopefully start doing evening meals. Got a present of big bit of banana cake when leaving which was amazing.
David and Amy really made us feel welcome, they took care that our motorbike was safety parked. The room was clean. Our breakfasts were delicious. There was a licensed bar in the property. The views from the bar were amazing.||They waved us off, helped us with our luggage and even sent us off with some delicious home baking.||David especially took time to chat to us. A very good host
Nice little B and B with licensed bar. Breakfast great, staff friendly and helpful. Only 300 yards from town centre and right on seafront.|Only drawback was our room which was a late booking and very much on the small side but otherwise we’ll appointed.
Great hosts - couldn’t do enough for us. Room 3 was small and outdated but absolutely fine, totally clean. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was lovely and cooked fresh. Cereal, fresh juice and coffee/ tea all included as well. Generally decor needed updated but Dave, the owner, did tell us he was in the process of doing this. The big bedroom at the front of the property was much nicer than ours. Our friends stayed in that one. Lovely views out onto the bay. Great location - 5 mins from the ferry terminal. Our only small complaint was the pressure in the shower was terrible. But would stay here again. Thanks Amy and Dave ????
This is the best small hotel I’ve ever stayed in . Brilliant hosts Dave & Amy & Summer and don’t forget Captain. Rooms are spotless and for the breakfast was delicious. We will be back 100% the hotel bar was fabulous and very well stocked.
