So I parked in a marked bay (DO NOT park outwith a bay as you WILL be ticketed) and used the Pay By Phone App and booked and hour and a half over what I did use and WAS STILL ticketed!!! have had to lodge an online appeal. Just make sure you are here early, don't try to park any where but an obvious bay, and bring coins to get a ticket (no contactless option), otherwise YOU WILL get a ticket. Very convenient place to park for the hills tho
Good location for hill access but there should more ticket options for the carpark, e.g up to 6 hours or 8 hours. I was on Narnain and the Cobbler on a fine day and had paid for 6 hours and had to scurry back quicker than I would have liked. How about an all day option?
Good car parking, just to remind it is highly likely to get a ticket if u don’t park in the proper bay even though you have paid…
Great location for Munros walking snd good it's £1 per hour so flexible, would like it still to offer an all day price
£1 an hour. If you get delayed by 10 minutes you can expect a £100 fine.
Great car park, which is well maintained and regulated. Reasonably priced and parking rules are clearly displayed, so it is very easy to understand. Handy to park and go hit the hills.
All Munroist need to use this car park and a lot of tourist also. As of 11/12/2018 there has been a high tide with a storm surge the car park and shoreline is full of SEAWEED PLASTIC AND OTHER DETRITUS. it looks like a 3rd world banana republic beach not a Scottish one. See photos.
If I was a resident I would be complaining to local council
ARROCHAR has a lot going for it petrol b/bs shops hotels chip shops tea rooms and pubs a great place to stop But this is black mark against it.
UPDATE
August 2020 ARROCHAR featured in a documentary on plastic waste. All this waste is not local it all came up the CLYDE off the ATLANTIC. Local residents are working hard to tidy it up
Good views but litter bins full, which would be ok if people took their rubbish home! £1/hour to park and no toilets - a national disgrace rather than a national park. Good spot to access Arrochar Alps for hill walking. Post Covid advise arriving by sustainable bus service.
