The community run store is brilliant - it has everything you need and at really competitive prices. Lots of fresh produce and bakery goods too. The staff whenever we pop in are so lovely - it's a real treasure in the village
Straiton Stores makes an excellent cyclist's pit stop. Refill your water bottles, grab a sandwich or some fruit. Maybe a chocolate bar and a bottle of milk. Enjoy the open air dining facilities, which are set back from the quiet road through the village, and conveniently situated across the road from the public toilets. We've stayed in Dumfries and Galloway for the last three years now and on each visit I have done a bike ride which has included a pit stop here. If Straiton Stores were ever to close I would be devastated.
Nice little shop in the village with many essentials. Friendly lady. Sells vegan magnems, bread, milk, shortbread, morning rolls and other bits and bobs.

Very helpful owner. Last little village before the remote park and we needed water, he was more than happy to let us fill up our water bottles. Without his help we would have been a bit stuck. Thank you ????
All I can say is wow!
This is by far the cutest village shop with the absolute best selection of everything you could possibly want in a tiny shop.
From veg to cookies & cakes.
They also had lovely chocolates that you can normally only find in major supermarkets.
They even had organic Christmas hot chocolate powder at a great price (around £3) which I had to buy.
The customer service was excellent too, soo friendly & helpful.

The Stores sell a wide variety of basic and luxury items, where you can find all sorts of nice snacks, food and drinks here. And now alcoholic drinks as well ????
Come have a 'nosy' inside and meet one of the many volunteers that keep this precious shop running.
