Good free car park for the trip up Pen y Fan. There is a NT car park down the road but is £7.50 if you are not a member. The trail from here is steep but I think more interesting than the one from the NT car park and less busy for sure. You can come down the other trail and walk back up here easily.
Ideal free parking spot to start the pen y fan hike
Busy little car park in a gorgeous area of Brecon Beacons. Plenty of nice walking paths from here. Streams, forests, rocks, sheep. Beautiful!
Arrived Monday of half term for 930am and there were around 5 spaces left. Great walk had
Perfect spot to stop for hiking around the Beacons..just need to be early as it fills up fast..but there is a pay and display car park just down the road
Free car park and ideal for climbing Pen Y Fan as the path starts just across the road. I got there for 7am and the car park was empty, when I got back to the car at about 1pm the car park was full. So my advice would be, if you are planning on climbing Pen Y Fan, earlier the better.
Used the burger van here. Very friendly lady who was running it however it took forever to cook the chips! The fryer must have been off so had to wait for that to heat up and cook the chips, it took 15 minutes or more. I had to stand in the cold and rain eating my own food while I waited for my daughters chips to be cooked, I'd finished my food and still had ages to wait! I would rather she had just been honest at the start and say how long it was going to take as we would have picked something else! The weather was awful, I'd just got down from hiking up Pen y Fan and got into dry clothes, the last thing I wanted to do was get soaked again before a long drive home!
Was closed and finishing construction when we visited just under two weeks ago. From what I saw it is well built, aesthetically pleasing and matches the local environment with plenty of car spaces. The toilets which were up and running are immaculate with unisex basin toilets (around 15) with urinals. Hand sanitizer in urinals and no running water.
