A fabulous and friendly team. I come in here regularly and they never fail to look after me. Coffee is as you would expect of Starbucks, but the twinkly team make it seem more personal. Thank you
I love Starbucks. High Street locations, shopping centres, even motorway services and drive through. Starbucks in Sainsbury's is different and today the service was terrible. Indifferent staff totally unaware of the concept of customer service. There was no queue but it took 10 minutes to get an Americano. Another customer joined the queue 5 minutes after me and was served before me. I will not go here again.
New Starbucks, you’d expect enthused, smiley, excellent and well trained customer service. Not so.
There are 1 or 2 members of the staff who make the effort but overwhelmingly the service is on the surly side. In addition, if your service model is based on calling customers names when their order is ready, perhaps your staff ought to have the courage to actually raise their voices to an audible level? And, finally, the sleeves for coffees are angled towards your staff and away from your customers yet never, and I’ve been a lot, do your staff put a sleeve on or so much as offer to do so, a little thing but really quite simple.
I think in a new outlet your new management team should be all over these basics.
I have visited this establishment now on a number of occasions, so feel I am able to provide a fair review.
Staff are clearly lacking in training, resulting in poor quality drinks and coffee that is often either cold or burnt.
There seem to be one or two members of staff that are friendly. Others however are more interested in having their own conversations than serving customers with a smile.
On my last visit, a male member of staff put down my poorly made coffee, spilling it over the sides of the cup. He did not apologise and I was not offered a napkin.
3 people working, both floor and tables very dirty and slow disappointing I get a starbucks each morning before work in nottingham so know what starbucks should be like

Afternoon everyone who’s reading this, (which I hope is Alton Starbucks inside Sainsbury’s). I ordered a pumpkin spice latte for myself, hoping to enjoy it in the local park in the sunshine. However, my experience was not as joyful as I expected. The presentation of
My coffee didn’t look good. I gave it the benefit of the doubt. However, the “cream”, looked like moist used cream, that was a little bit on the inside of my lid, which I saw after opening the lid, feeling underwhelmed with the taste. Making sure it was actually my order. I tasted the little of the cream that was there, that was the only, one taste of the whole drink which actually tasted like pumpkin spice. The coffee was so bitter and rancid I had to throw it away. I’m not sure if they used someone else’s order, that no one claimed. And added a smidge of some pumpkin spice syrup to the cream, which for some reason, was on the lid not the coffee, which probably got there from the lack of care while making it. I imagine it got thrown around and shaken upside down, as it is what it looked like. And absolute shame and scam out my bank account, which I work so hard to save, only working in a fruit market, about an hour away, I’m Not earning a decent amount, which is why it’s so special for me, when I go and treat myself to my desired coffee. I’m very disappointed today, and will try and cheer myself up, with garden rescue on bcc one today. Until then, I am going to work, then I’m going to Costa when I’m back in Alton , and then, I will buy a nice muffin, since I’ve lost all trust in my favourite coffee, since my experience today. And coffee in general :( . I apologise to other businesses , cafes, drink places, coffee shops, ect . But Alton’s Sainsbury’s Starbucks, has made me loose hope for coffee. And my favourite, pumpkin spice latte. ( but the staff there today were obviously as standard polite) #dissapointed.
Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Child friendly too :-) it's great to have a coffee shop here again.
I had a frappucino as a treat and it was SO good!!!
