Just a quick stop for a chilled out coffee. For once it wasn't a take away or drive through coffee.
I don't really do Starbucks because their take out coffee tastes horrible. ( just my opinion. Others will differ) however, the coffee served to sit in guests may be the same coffee, but miraculously, it tastes rather nice. Maybe the take out cups are rubbish? Who knows.
The service here was swift and staff were blankly polite (work robots). A little actual interaction might go a long way.
Anyway, not a bad experience and not too expensive.
Also worth noting is that is a DOG FRIENDLY establishment.
Arrived just after 3pm, was quiet apart from 2 other customers sat down. 3 girls working behind the counter. We waited for 5 minutes, had staff members turn to face us but no greeting so walked out. We were the only ones in the queue. If they’d have said “I’ll be with you in a moment”, absolutely fine. Understand they were heating food, taking orders at the drive thru, but this isn’t the first time I’ve had to wait in line for a longer period of time than expected without even being smiled at. Feels incredibly uninviting.
A great place and a great location. All but one lady serving were so morose and un smiling. I was in a good mood until being "served" by them. One lady (Mars?) did appear friendly and looked like the only member of staff who enjoys her job.
Went to sit inside and they gave me takeaway cup with my order even though they knew we were eating inside.
Not very good for the environment! Plus who likes to drink from a takeaway cup? When you can have a proper mug - I looked around and everyone else sitting inside also had a takeaway cup - my thoughts is they were trying to save on washing up! But by creating how much more litter?! I’m not a big environmentalist but this just seems crazy to me?
When I questioned the staff member she said that they thought we were taking away, but then she had given our pastry items on proper plates so that couldn’t have been true.
Good choice of milks and nice staff for the most part. They spend a lot of time talking to each other but that does seem to be improving lately. They never get my order wrong. Will happily serve pup cups for any pets you bring along.
Varied Experience at Starbucks Location
My experiences at the Starbucks adjacent to Budgens off the A370 have been a mix of positives and negatives, reflecting a somewhat varied experience:
Quick Service, Modern Setting:
For the most part, the service at this Starbucks is commendably swift, ensuring minimal waiting times. The cafe's modern ambiance adds to the overall appeal, providing a comfortable space to enjoy your drinks and snacks.
Accuracy Concerns in Orders:
However, during one visit, my vegetarian girlfriend ordered the Egg White Bites with Three Cheese & Red Pepper but was served Egg Bites with Three Cheese & Ham instead. While her dietary needs were unaffected this time, such errors are significant for those with specific dietary requirements and cannot be overlooked.
Convenient Amenities:
On the positive side, the Starbucks is conveniently dog-friendly, making it a welcoming spot for pet owners. Additionally, ample parking and the option for both drive-through and dine-in service add to the convenience factor, catering to various preferences.
Location and Ambiance:
Situated next to Budgens, this Starbucks benefits from a convenient location for those passing by. The modern aesthetic of the cafe enhances the overall experience, providing a pleasant environment for customers to relax and enjoy their beverages.
In summary, while the Starbucks near Budgens off the A370 offers quick service, modern ambiance, and convenient amenities such as dog-friendly policies, ample parking, and both drive-through and dine-in options, its inconsistency in order accuracy raises concerns. I hope this issue is addressed promptly to ensure a more reliable and enjoyable experience for all patrons.
I've never had a Starbucks in my life. The logo is apparently a siren, a type of mythical sea creature that lures sailors to their deaths by dashing their boats into rocks by singing at them. Seems an odd choice of imagery but maybe appropriate if you think about how they lure you in, give you addictive substances and increase your risk of illnesses like diabetes.
Exceptional coffee along with excellent service. Great place to read books, listen to music, catch up with friends or just unwind. Quite easy to find with good parking.
