Large church in Martley village. Grass in the graveyard long and uncut in many places at the rear. The building is in good condition, with many interesting memorials and panels. Small car park adjacent. A good starting point for the circular walk around the village and surrounding area.
A beautiful building steeped in history, mentioned in the Domesday book 1086. The building is closed at the moment due to COVID, but there are updates on view in the porch. It's the kind of place that makes you ask yourself, What can I do to contribute to the next 1000 years?
Nice church hidden away a bit.
While visiting a family grave, I have noticed how untidy the church yard is. It been like this for a while now.
Was very tranquil and to find the church unlocked able to enter was a great pleasure and the treasures inside were thrilling
We used St Peters car park as our starting and finishing point for the Martley Circular walk. Fortunately we were blessed with good weather and we thoroughly enjoyed the walk through the lovely countryside. The views of the surrounding area were wonderful and the footpaths were well marked.
Beautiful old church rated so highly due to my own personal attachment traced back through family history
On my last visit the condition of the graveyard was a disgrace, did not look like the grass had been cut for months. Very very disappointing again.
