Service was behind appointment times by 20 minutes.
Nursing staff are lovely.
Reception staff need to go on a customer service course, haven't a clue how to speak to people.
Used the disability toilet and the red emergency cord was wrapped up half way upthe wall, let me give you a small piece of information " the red cable is long and should reach the floor in case someone with a disability falls and can pull for help, mmmm maybe not here".
'Advice only'. What a shambles! The only advice they gave was to go back the next day! The nurse couldn't listen to my chest as 'the notes required to do so take to long'
Pointless this place being here if there's not enough staff to work.
Absolute joke of a place, tried to send my son home saying nothin was wrong after basically arguing with what we were sayin. Walked out and went to A&E which they didn't want me to do only to be correct in what we was saying and got giving a diagnosis and loads of meds for our son.. Told us he was fine but yet hospital agreed and seen he was really poorly. Official comaints will be going in as it was a serious illness too
On arrival it wasn't explained to my partner that due to staff shortages treatment could not be administered. The impression was that the triage nurse would offer advice and decide on treatment. After being triaged however he was told that they couldn't do anything but that he should seek help soon. He needed anti biotics for a rapidly increasing infection following a bite. He was also told after checking his BP that he had a flutter and needed a 24hr ECG, yet neither nurse thought to take his pulse. I completely appreciate that the staff were working under difficult conditions but there was poor communication and incomplete assessment, for which there is no excuse.
I spent over an hour today waiting to be triaged with a chest infection, we were all then told, that they would only be giving advice, no treatment or medication, there was no explanation why.
Looking at my experience today and other reviews this service is of no use to anyone as it does not provide the service it is intended for "helping to reduce the numbers going to A&E".
It would make more sense to have a 7 day GP access.
Waited over 2 hours at the walk to get a prescription for antibiotics for a foot infection, when they finally got to me they told me they are currently only offering advice. If I wanted advice I would have gone on Google or called 111 and not wasted 2 hours sat in a waiting room. Literally what is the point of this place
87yr FiL, Diabetic, known chest infection, finished course of ABx, no better, waiting 6hrs, and yet to be reviewed, not offered food. Dreadful.
Got there at 12 noon. Supposed to be a 2 hour wait ,after a triage wait of 45minutes. At 3pm the wait became 4.5 hour after a 45minute triage .We decided to leave untreated as they still hadn’t seen a patient who had been there since 10am and there were still 10 people ahead of us . Whilst you can understand if there had been some kind of emergency or staffing issue would it not be better to explain to patients rather than just let them sit there .
The only other explanation , is this is how it is normally run and the clinicians have poor time management skills or a poor work ethic and shouldn’t be in an emergency setting
