Best KPortal Reviews
Not doing food currently but a lovely welcoming locals pub. Pool table and darts board with a great atmosphere.
Excellent Sunday lunch carvery at an equally excellent price. Lovely family run business and friendly staff. Lovely to see locals, visitors, children of all ages and dogs are welcome in the Bar area. Dining tables in bar area too as well as restaurant areas. Will definitely be back for Sunday Lunch in this warm friendly atmosphere!
Watched the rugby on Saturday, some reluctance to put TV on in the bar to watch the rugby which was strange! Good food, beer and staff though.
In our opinion the best carvery in Pembrokeshire. Food is excellent, establishment clean and well cared for. Staff friendly and helpful. Booking is strongly advised due to ever-increasing popularity.
Give yourself a real treat, it's delicious.
Friends and I visited twice over a couple of days. Lovely staff, great home made food, sourced from local producers. It really made such a difference!
There's a lovely family feel to the place and you are made to feel welcome. Our nearby bnb (the lovely Torbant farmhouse) was only 5 minutes walk away, but as the heavens had opened with a deluge, the landlord gave us a lift to spare us a soaking - now that's great customer service.
Had such a good time we went back again for dinner the next day. Really good value too.
Wonderful carvery, all 14 adults very impressed with every item on offer. Meats tasty, tender and generous helpings, veg great variety. No scraps left, clean plates all round including children's plates. Best recommendation you can have
We went for the sunday carvery, the food was really nice, and the bar staff were friendly. But the person serving the carvery ruined the entire experience for us:
1- Our whole family of 4 were served 1 slice of meat each, when groups in front AND behind were given 2 or maybe 3 slices each.
2- When one of us asked for another slice, he cut the thinnest piece of meat I've ever seen.
3- My mother had been in previously to book the table and dealt with the same person who was serving the carvery. According to my mother he was a bit rude to her then, and then upon seeing her at the carvery, he gave a pretty obvious look of disapproval which my brother and I clocked onto.
We are not from the area, and this made us feel very unwelcome and will definitely not be returning or recommending to anybody else.
Gave 1 star for the good food and 1 star for the friendly bar staff.
What an amazing gem of a pub/restaurant the Square and Compass Croesgoch Pembrokeshire is. It was my first visit last Sunday, I was invited to Sunday lunch to celebrate my cousin's 70th birthday. Both my cousin and her husband visit the Square and Compass regularly always singing it's praises. I saw for myself on Sunday why they love it so much, the Sunday carvery was exceptional the meat was cooked to perfection,so much choice of different vegetables, gravy was so tasty. If all that wasn't enough we then got to spoil ourselves with some delicious desserts. The atmosphere was really nice and relaxing, the staff are very customer focused pleasant and helpful. Wish I lived in this area would be visiting on a very regular basis. Thanks everyone at the Square and Compass Croesgoch Pembrokeshire. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for everything.
