Visited here yesterday and the food was awful.
Have been here before and food was decent so I decided to come with my son.
He had a roast chicken dinner and I had roast beef. I wasn’t very hungry so ordered a kids roast beef dinner.
We received the food and some of the food looked like someone had been sick on our plate of food. Mashed up
cauliflower cheese, mash potato with a couple of parsnips, and a couple of carrots(although they were large).
1 roast potato each!!
My son who is 11 had a roast chicken kids meal and I was surprised to see it was on the bone even though prior to ordering I asked at the till if the chicken came on or off the bone and was told off the bone.
However once received the chicken was on the bone which disappointed my son massively. He’s only 11 and doesn’t like to see chicken on the bone especially when he has to eat it but that’s kids for you and so I am sure I am not the only person who has a young child who doesn’t like to eat any type of meat off the bone.
I asked if we could have a couple of extra roast potatoes each(seeing as we had only received just the 1 each) as my son loves his roast potatoes(I mean what kid doesn’t).
I mean what child would only want just 1 roast potato with their roast dinner? Really?
I asked a waitress if we could have some more roast potatoes and another young girl came over and gave us some extra roast potatoes and said ‘that is going to cost you an extra £4.50 and just for the record I don’t know who served you but your not allowed to order a kids meal and should never have been allowed to order one for yourself’
I mean seriously? What the????
The young girl who had an attitude said ‘Well if you don’t like it I will get my manager and you can speak to him’
So the manager came over and said I understand there is a problem.
My reply was ‘ I’m surprised to have only received 1 roast potato each. I mean kids love their roast potatoes so I was just saying that(His reply was ‘True’ )
1 roast potato is shocking and I asked a different waitress if we could have a couple of more roast potatoes each’ and the other waitress came over with an attitude and said the above.
Also, ‘I was told the chicken would be off the bone when it wasn’t and it was on the bone.
He also said about I shouldn’t have been allowed to order a kids size meal and I said ‘ I’ve been here a couple of times before and once I had an adult meal and the last time I had a kids meal and no one said anything about that then. I also said so found that weird, I mean I can walk into McDonald’s and order a Happy Meal and again his reply was ‘True’ As the same as many other places. My family and myself often eat out and have done over the years and I don’t believe we have ever been checked up on is having an adult meal and who is having a kids meal.
My son and myself left not long after and was very disappointed and would never go back there.
We could also see the staff behind the bar talking about us both which is very rude and un professional.
I spent £20 and yes it’s only £20 but £20 of wasted money which is why I will never go back.
Food wasn’t good. As well as not tasty paid £15 each for a main and the salmon was undercooked (I’m pregnant so this is worrying). Staff dismissive when they took full plates away and said nothing. Money down the drain
Great place. Friendly staff, good selection of drinks & reasonably priced food. Live music nights are fabulous. Warm atmosphere. Definitely a place to go and relax with friends. Shows upstairs in the theatre are reasonably priced and great fun too.
Moonage were very good. GREAT EVENING. GREAT VENUE. STAFF ENGAGING. UNTIL THE NEXT TIME!!!!
Always an enjoyable experience with good good and beers with the added pleasure of no TV in the bar area.Staff very friendly and knowledgeable
Charles Cryer evening with Ewan Bleach - great evening of entertainment with truly talented musicians.
Love this bar, great beers, good food at reasonable prices.
Good food especially Nachos and fries are good.
Good drinks and a lively atmosphere.
