Small resturant 10 ish tables , some seating outside.
Place is clean and food was served hot and well cooked . No complaints.
Food looked like it had been sitting there all day looked vile
The sausage we had was so stale we threw it in the bin coffee weak
Atmosphere wow it was amazing NOT! Old chairs old tables looked like a very old canteen.and they must rake it in because they have no competitors nothing around to go to so u have no choice, anybody that says the food is nice as no taste buds or desperate!!
Would not recommend DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY,TAKE YOUR OWN LUNCH AND DRINKS
Had a tuna melt tasted delicious and the price was very cheap. Very nice staff.
This is hands down the best cafe in the south east of England I would definitely recommend the Fryup and the jacket potatoes oh and how can I forget to mention the salad bar? It’s nice. I found out about this and I’ve been returning for the last 10 years????
I've had the pleasure of using this cafe on days of my sons appointments. His 20 this year, and we've been coming here since he was born. Food is delicious and fresh, staff are friendly and cheerful and atmosphere is really pleasant. The menu is fairly priced, especially in this economy. All round top marks.
DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE CELIAC DISEASE. The lady didn't seem sure if my food would be gluten free. She went to check and came back and said yes it is. She also said they cook chips in the fryer to.. so I asked if she could check that they are gluten free. She said they were. I'm not even confident that she even checked. I've been suffering for almost a week now. It's soooo un fair. Being a hospital and having a massive sign to say ask a member of staff for help if you have an allergy (although this is a autoimmune disease) I would have really liked to believe they would have a good understanding about allergies and cross contamination. Pretty sure no one will care about this comment at all. But atleast it can warn others not to eat there.
Had an extended out patient visit and needed lunch, it was Friday so had fish and chips. Didn't expect the Ritz so it met expectations, cheap and cheerful what's not to like.
Well I suppose I am slightly biased as this is actually the Spitfire Restaurant at the Queen Victoria Hospital where I work as a volunteer. Food is very good, varied menu, different dishes every day at a very reasonable cost finishing up on a Friday with fish and chips. Staff friendly and cleanliness spot on. Bit of history, this once was ward 3 where American, Canadian and British airmen were treated by the famous Sir Archibald McIndoe and Group Captain Ross Tilley performing pioneering plastic surgery on their burns. The hospital carries on their tradition of world renowned plastic surgery for burns and reconstructive surgery for cancer patients.
