Tasty Italian restaurant with very comfortable chairs to sit in and relax. I think due to Covid they were missing a few items from their menu but the food we had was really good. The creamy tomato sauce with king prawn spaghetti was absolutely amazing.
Absolutely brilliant food and amazing service.
We all enjoyed our meal on New Years Eve.
Food was great. Friendly service. Prices reasonable. Pleasant atmosphere.
Spago is hidden away down a narrow lane off the main street in Stamford.
Look out for notice board.
Great food and service to match. We had a lovely Tuesday evening here in a quiet but atmospheric setting and couldn't fault it. My children said it was the best spaghetti bolognese they've ever had, so high praise indeed. I would highly recommend a visit.
Excellent food. Service was a little lacking in that they missed a drinks order and forgot a food item but they were busy and the staff were very pleasant so I didn't mind too much. Will definitely come back again.
A bit of a mix of feelings. Warm welcome, food was good apart from my desert which was still slightly frozen. The expensive prices are not justified for the quality of food and surroundings however You can't charge £24 for a main course and present a tatty photo copied menu loosing it's lamination with gravy stains on it for desert @£7.20. Just one of the few things which made me feel this place overall didn't represent value for money.
Fantastic food and service. Fresh and delicious.
Love the fact it’s an independent and not chained restaurant, staff love food in general and care about what they give you. Top notch
3 weeks In advance I booked a table for 2 for my partners birthday, the chap on the other end of the phone seemed extremely enthusiastic as he took our booking, a hopeful start.
As we arrived we were greeted and asked if we wanted a table in the center of the restaurant or one at the back which was almost available, given the choice we decided to wait the 5 minutes for the table which was suitable for us, things swiftly went downhill.
A middle aged well spoken english chap came and took a drinks order which was speedy, unfortunately the Italian chaps who looked like they managed the place didnt give us menu's which we waited 10 minutes and decided to we had to get up and ask, the menus quickly found their way to our table.
Our food order took a while, given they were busyish we didnt mind as we were having a great time taking in the ambience of the Italian themed restaurant.
We waited a while and decided if we could order our food to the english middle aged and very polite waiter, to which he replied, "unfortunately I can't take your food order, however I'll send over one of the other members of our staff".
Very polite and to the point, me and my partner were very understanding as he might be on a trial shift or numerous other reasons.
10 minutes later one of the Italian chaps came and took our order, great stuff.
The food was delicious, hats off to the kitchen team as the food wasn't exactly the biggest portion size but the flavour made up for more than that.
However, no check backs, nobody asking if we wanted any more drinks, if we wanted our jug of water refilling, when the Italian waiter cleared our plates he didnt ask how the food was, which left me thinking was it confidence in that the food was that good he didnt need to check back or ask, or was it just incompetence and he didn't care.
Either way we decided not to have puddings and decided to go down the road for a sweet instead.
What a shame and a poor way to attract new customers as its currently been taken over with new owners/management, maybe promote the polite english speaking chap as he was the only one who wasn't dogmatic and lethargic.
