Visited this absolute gem of a coffee shop for the first time the other day. We turned up a little early and the staff let us sit inside until 10am. Ordered decaf tea for two and 2 doorstop sarnies which where so yummy. Read really fresh and lots of filling! They even filled up the teapot with hot water for us! Staff where super sweet and friendly and the place was very clean and inviting. Attached to a super quaint post office too. Parking on the road outside and the surround village with gorgeous too. Will definitely come back! Esp in the summer as would love to sit in the garden.
Lovely quaint place.
Quirky tea rooms in the lovely village of Southwick. They have a side entrance which leads to a sunny garden with benches.
Inside is full of the local history and has ample tables in a warm dining area.
Menu is great.
Food is amazing.
Service with a smile and come to your table.
If you need the toilet, you need to walk to the back of the tea rooms, through some doors into the post office/shop and use them... it's different but quirky.
The sandwiches are huge! Thick doorstop bread with lots of filling, served with a lovely salad with a french dressing and a big handful of salted crisps.
It is super big so unless you have a big appetite, I suggest you share ????
Lots of cake although I didn't try any.
Good selection of coffees and tea.
Will try more of the menu if I can take myself away from the Bacon, Brie and Cranberry sandwich ????
Dogs are welcome inside and out which is great ????????
We had -
Pot of tea for 2
2 x Bacon brie and cranberry sandwiches on white bread
Hubby had a caramel shortbread slice
£21 which was a great price for the volume of food we had!
Would definitely recommend ????????
What an absolute gem of a place, the staff, the service and food were all amazing and at a good price. You do need to book as it gets very busy, but there is plenty of seating inside and out. Honestly, it's worth the visit. There is a little bit of road parking, but just across the road by the golden lion, there is a free car park.
Popped in for afternoon tea and was very presently surprised. What you get for your money is well worth it and they don't skimp on the food. The sandwiches were filled to the brim, the scones were huge and still warm with a pot of jam and cream for each one. The slices of cake are huge we had to get a doggy bag to take them home. 1000% recommended.
Absolutely loved it here.
Had an afternoon tea with my wife and in-laws.
The sandwiches were so fresh! Deep filled with a variety of choices, a massive scone and an equally massive slice of cake! Washed down with a nice cup of tea. £26 for two which is an absolute bargain.
Highly recommend it here, will certainly be coming back.
Staff are nice and helpful, the food is amazing, and it's incredible value.
Amazing and will cater to dietary requirements including gluten free. Good price for Amazing food and service. Lovely quiet place even with children. Will definitely go again.
First visit to this little tea room in Southwick and what a pleasant surprise! On a sunny afternoon there was plenty of outside seating at picnic benches in the garden. We sat inside and there was lots of wartime memorabilia decorating the tea room. Great looking afternoon tea which several tables were enjoying. We had a tea cake and baked Camembert. Large flat white available too which makes a nice change. Great place and great food - just one request though….. please sort out the squeaky kitchen door!!
Nice tea rooms with large garden at back of Post Office/general store. Breakfast up till noon. Sandwiches, jacket potatoes, soup, cakes and afternoon tea.
Nice sandwiches, very generous portions filled with lots of chosen ingredients, served with loads of crisps and large side salad.
Tuna jacket potato was also filled with generous amount of tuna mayo.
Nice setting.
Staff were not friendly, came to clear table and took my latte away before i had finished it.
Thought it was just the young lady taking the orders but the person clearing the tables was just as bad. Shame as its a lovely place. It wont put me off returning as others have put friendly staff in their review. So i assume its just who was serving us today. (Tuesday).
