This is my favourite take away been coming for years! I get the mixed jerk and lamb with rice and peas, staff always overflow it for me! Food is perfect and full of flavour. Love them!
This is our second time ordering and unfortunately the last Not only were we sent wrong items, we received burnt food. The curry goat was 80% bones and coleslaw portion wasn’t great. Extremely disappointing
Excellent value. Have only had the jerk pork but it is an outstanding dish, fatty and succulent meat levelled off with a roundness of spice and smoke (suspect allspice / pimento is part of the rub). You will struggle to find something tastier at the same price for lunch options.
It needs a little more atmosphere. I feel like they could have put more salad on this and the man that served me seemed tired food was nice but definitely more salad also the 3 star hygiene put me off slightly
As someone who has been coming here for 15 years it is sad to see the decline of Smokey Jerk. The food has completely gone down hill. The Jerk, flavourless no pepper. The pepper/jerk sauce provided has completely changed. Everything on display is burnt. The festival bun up. The macaroni, bun up. Everything is cooked past enjoyable yet big money is being charged. As a Jamaican I want unu to do well. Please appoint chefs who take pride in their job and aspire to cook food of a high standard we’ve always associated with Smokey Jerk. You are cooking food to sell, represent our country and yourselves. Rewind and come again.
£13 for a hefty serving of jerk chicken, rice, and plantain that two people can share. Incredible hot sauce, and what a smokey chicken, as its name says. Clean place to dine in, but not quite spacious. Friendly service, the lovely lady gave us the additional hot sauce whenever we asked. There’s a lunch set menu for only £5 or 6 if I’m not mistaken.
I have a 5 star review with photos of food already below somewhere. Google won't let me edit it but I even spoke to the owner in the 5 Bells when he sold it. His family did an amazing job but new owners new staff are useless, service rude, food absent, this is just some frauds living off old name. PLEASE search by newest and do your own research.
£13 for a large box of mixed grilled meat, got the grilled lamb and pork.
Really nice smokey flavor to the meats, the pork skin in particular had lovely crackling. Rice and peas were delicious. The jerk sauce elevated the dish, the chilli was garlicky with a light kick.
Price is a little high, there were also some really tough bits of meat which is a little unfortunate.
