I was in the area in my Honda Jazz when I noticed one of the rear brakes were binding, after calling half a dozen local garages and getting nowhere, I called Smith & Gummerson to see if they had any availability, although they were busy, they said for me to come down and they made room to inspect my car immediately.
A skilled mechanic sorted out the broken calliper so I was able to drive back to Huddersfield.
A first class service and highly appreciated.

Straight forward, laid back, nice guys. Always try their best to fix your car. Realistic pricing. Never rip you off. Will drive the car to your house to pick you up if you live a distance and struggle to get back to collect your car. So glad I found them. Now, there is no worry over finding the right garage to fix your car. I never go anywhere else. 10/10 would recommend.
Fantastic garage. My 21 year old's car had broken down whilst travelling to Lincoln from Southport. Dave from S&G was brilliant. He not only was able to fix the car which involved cutting a leaking pipe and reattaching to the engine but he also kept me fully informed through a number of phone calls. He then tested the car for over 30 minutes before allowing the car to be used.
First user S&G for MOTs something like 25 years ago, must have out dozens through them back then between mine and friends and families. Was just back in the area and needed a test doing, good to see the same reliable cost effective service is going strong
